Re: Flag Zone
zoneflag and flag are two different, unrelated options
flag denotes a spawnzone where a flag can spawn. These flags are added to the map via +f or -s/+s
zoneflag adds a flag to only that zone, and is independent of +f

Re: Fair Play (or lack thereof)
I'm not talking about people who abuse pause. If people abuse pause, they should ideally be dealt separately from normal players. There shouldn't need to be something like a team-self-kill to motivate people to pause as little as possible. It' seems rather single minded to say the "only way to ...

Re: Fair Play (or lack thereof)
This will make a player think twice before he hits the pause button. What if the player needs to leave, but only for a few minutes? (ie, important phone call, explosion outside, other important thing out of their control)? It seems silly to "punish" someone for something out of their cont...

Re: Fair Play (or lack thereof)
There's a big hint in the video. It's about as obvious as the very prominent and unusual green line that some seem to have overlooked. It obviously isn't obvious, so why don't you stop being a smart--- and explain what you claim is happening? Also, that line cannot represent lag, as you are watchin...

It's his fairness meter. The more it bounces the less fair it is. When it spiked it was ÜBER UNFAIR.

You stopped. Then you shot again. Then you stopped again?
That's like saying "oh, I stopped smoking twice last week."

I'd believe you if you didn't continue to shoot at him. You also kept shooting far after the pause.snick wrote:And it's not whining about not getting a kill. I would have been quite happy if he
had agreed to return to the landing position alive.

Re: Fair Play (or lack thereof)
In that first situation it looks as though IR acted correctly, while you, who kept shooting at him, were out of line. If someone shoots at a tank, that tank should dodge, regardless of whether the game is paused or not. You should have let him stay instead of continuing to shoot at him, if the game ...

Re: Jump up boxes
You most likely have the vertices for the bottom face backwards (Currently you made a mesh face facing upwards, not down)

Re: Jump up boxes
Vertices start at 0, not 1. So your mesh won't work. Downshift all your numbers by one and it should show up.

Re: Spawn Zones
it's a known bug. Use meshbox instead of box. basicly, if you apply a matref and drivethrough to box , it won't work for some reason or another. using meshbox will fix it. the box object originally didn't allow matrefs anyways, and I guess the implementation is a little buggy. Just use meshbox for a...

Re: Missile War 2.3: Sticky walls
This is a rather rare occurrence so don't count on it while you are playing. Actually, in this case, it is quite easy to get this to happen. There is a certain technique you can teach yourself. ;) what I think is happening is that the tank goes a little bit "inside" the wall when it goes ...

Re: Private WiFi Server
The other person just has to get your ip address and put it in their server line. You can find out your ipaddress by opening up the command prompt (cmd.exe) and running ipconfig Your ip address will be something like 192.168.1.3, or 10.0.2.13, etc. Just put that into the other player's bzflag and th...

Re: No GUI command while playing
This is a known bug, and it is already fixed in 3.x.
It can't really be fixed in 2.x, as it requires everyone to get a new client.

Re: GM and Missle War 2.3
Movement does not affect GM shots' speeds in any way.
On MW2 the map is indeed too long for a gm to travel the entire distance of the map, and any "trick" to make the GM go further is a bug in the game.

Re: 1 v 1 rules
1vs1 rules are that after you make a kill, you drop your flag.
(so you don't get 30 kills in a row with gm or laser)
There is a plugin for it somewhere on the forum

Re: 3D
there is a anaglyph mode for bzflag. you can run it by running bzflag with -view anaglyph
if you have some 3d glasses, try it out!
to change it back you need to start bzflag with -view normal (as joevano explained)

Perhaps the message was in your outbox for an hour because people don't check bzbb 24/7?
"Outbox" means that the receiver didn't open the message yet, not that the message hasn't been sent.

Re: /set on local servers
make sure you use -password as a flag for bzfs, not bzflag, like -world or -conf
then in-game, use /password <yourpassword> to get admin rights.
Code: Select all
/path/to/bzfs/ -world "myawesomeworld.bzw" -password ilovecats

Re: /set on local servers
add a password to your config
-password mypass
and then in-game type in "/password mypass"
this will give you full admin rights. (including set)
set away!
