BZFlag Custom Map: Diamonds are Forever 1.0

This is my third effort and I like the final product. I've ran this on my home server for a couple days and it got some play but my capped upstream makes it hard for more than 5 or so to play.

The one problem I have is the "diamonds" are "pass through" as if they weren't really there. I like the eye candy value but would like them represented as solid. I've been told it has to do with the -Z value used. Created on BZedit w32.

I was only introduced to bzflag a couple of months ago and it has become my new passion. Forgive me if I'm still a newbie :D

First callsign was "NiGeL"; pretty much just "Scooby's Doo".

Not counting the lan game at work where the object is to make up a new call sign funnier than the last...

Scooby,

Your file has the "bzw" extension. May be a major upgrade to the latest BZEdit would help? Did you originally create this map in BZEdit or some other app?

It's the "latest" version that created a .map file. I just renamed it.

It doesn't matter, but it is an indicator (if it wasn't changed, but Scooby did change it).

Hehe... that wouldn't be too hard to do. :) Just make maps that have lots of passages, traps, etc.... oh, and they have to comfuse those of little brain. :P :)

couple things that dont agree with me, and a couple things that do.

the donts
1. the map is very wide open.....laser and gm is a bit too powerful

2. it felt like it needed an in-between level.....between the top crosses and the floor.......might be related to #1

3. need a couple hiding spaces


the do's
1. liked the diamonds and the shape and playabilty of the many of the structures.

2. the block shapes on the ends and side-middles are great shapes for complicated play.....liked them a lot.
