Re: config file?
in the wiki-pages you'll find lots of good help, hints, instructions and tips!
but i know we all started one day and i remember a little extra help (especially this forum) gets you going more easily!
so here a basic conf file that you have to modify to get you started. just replace the settings so it will fit your needs.
all lines that begin with an
#
will be ignored by the bzflag-server and you need to only take care of the lines which start without it (or add it if you don't need a specific option).
i personally use the config file for "server-settings" only and add the map specific ones to the map.bzw file itself. therefore some settings might be missing?!
good luck to start up your 1st server!

Re: config file?
I would recommend NOT using a sample configuration file. It will just make it easier to screw up and not know why. Read the bzfs documentation and then start out with a blank config and add one or two things at a time. If something breaks, then you will have a good idea of what it is that broke it.

Re: config file?
And like I said, that's a bad idea. But whatever, feel free to ignore my advice.
