Fullscreen on mac... how do you get out?
ok... so ive herd that you can get out of full screen on windows, how do you do it on mac?
Re: Fullscreen on mac... how do you get out?
F1 toggles full screen. To switch to another application, use command+tab, since BZFlag will "grab" your mouse.

You can turn this off by going to Input Settings -> Confine Mouse and setting it to no. The window will then behave just like a normal one. I find this useful during map making (which I spend more time doing than playing nowadays), as that requires switching between several applications.Enigma wrote:since BZFlag will "grab" your mouse.

Re: Fullscreen on mac... how do you get out?
On some newer mac keyboards (like mine), the f1 key is used for some other function by the computer and won't toggle fullscreen (this same reason applies to the f-keys that change who you are observing). If this is the case you have to change it to a different key (to change the observer keys you have to go into the config though).

You just have to hold down the 'Fn' + 'F1'

Alt + F1 on Mac keyboards.
The other question is: What's wrong with windowed mode? The aspect ratio is wrong, giving an effect similar to the "wide angle" flag.

Fn + F1 is also on a Mac keyboard. I do not seem to experience the "wide" angle thing on my Mac Pro or MacBook Pro. Maybe you could post a screen shot.

I don't get the wide-angle thing either on my mac desktop.
I use a mac and fn + f1 works for me. Also, fn+f4 (which iconizes in windows) minimizes in macintosh.

You may not get out of fullscreen mode. It depends on what you use.
If you're tired of fn to use the f-keys as standard function keys you can check "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" in keyboard preferences.

On my Mac, this box sometimes checks itself, without actually applying the changes. I have to uncheck it and recheck it again in order to use the standard functions. But my computer's got a lot of quirks, so you probably won't have to worry about this.ts wrote: If you're tired of fn to use the f-keys as standard function keys you can check "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" in keyboard preferences.
