BZ flag on Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron cannot go full screen

Fault:
Cannot go full screen and bz flickers and does funny things with the window.

Fix:
Go into desktop settings and select no visual effects.

Howto:
From the top bar select
System > Preferences > Appearance
Then in the new window go to the Visual Effects tab and select none.

or to keep desktop appearances go to the terminal and type
bzflag -window -geometry 1600x1200+0+0 -d
