Are you talking about like changing the appearance of the tank? Like I know that roboter5a made this post of a custom made tank design and I am currently using roboter5a's tank design. But no, you have a great idea. Like maybe there can be a option (under settings) that it says Customizable tank. and there can be like maybe 5-6 designs? And then a small tank will rotate 360 continuously showing the current selected design. Like it? hehe
That exactly what I was thinking. It also might be fun to be able to custom-code your tank... kinda like building a map but with a tank... oh- and maybe you could choose your camo pattern... the color of whatever team you play as would be the same, but the pattern would be different- like pixel camo, or zebra stripes, or solid color, etc.
But if people can use their own skins and others will see them as such, then a guy who only plays red on red vs. blue servers could make his color blue...

It only affects your client.. the others will not see how you have your tanks set.

the point was to just allow a little visual customization on a per player basis, so that everyone wasn't the exact same tank. Very similar to how you can pick a player model in quake, yet still be on the "blue" team.
Yeah ro0uge of course people won't see your design, this is sorta of your own personalization. But I was also thinking that a specific map can decide which pattern or design to be used only for the teams. for example. Lets say it was a planet mofo map.
And in the config file you make something like this.
I think you can change it already in the current versions. Just go to the data folder in the program folder and change the PNG files for the tanks. I don't think any new coding would be needed.

That changes the color, not the tank model. Might not have been overly clear, but if you read through the topic, you do see references to the tank model itself.
