If that cell phone had OpenGL and a supported OS, sure, yeah, it could be done.
But it wouldn't be easy and someone would actually have to do it.

You can't just wave a magic wand and wish it to be so, these sort of 'ports' would require a huge ammount of input and research, frankly for what really wouldn't be all too great.
Your average common-or-garden cell phone will probably support not much more than simple java games, with very little processing power and very limited graphics, plus the limited input devices - i.e. the numeric keypad - would end up being a very very watered down game, definately not 'compatible' with current computer versions of the game.
It's wishful thinking - and I can guarantee you it will never happen. No point speculating.

It doesn't have to be online. It could be vs. bots. Some cell phones out there can support fairly fast internet (about 100kb/s down) and can have some fast processors that run at about 200+MHz (I'm talking about your average Smart phone here). But, the problem is the research and development that could possibly take years, if it even could be possible.ducktape wrote:and you would have huge lag man.

But if you can only play against bots, how fun would that be? They're not smart enough to capture the flag or be really good at dodging, so it wouldn't be much of a challenge.Think_Different wrote:It doesn't have to be online. It could be vs. bots.
Edit
I take that back. Hitting tiny buttons on your cell phone might be a challenge...

Very far from the requirements of BZFlag. Nidhoggr runs/ran BZAdmin on his phone.Slayer++ wrote:BZAdmin would work. In fact, I believe someone already did it once.
One could also assume they would be able to run BZFS if they could run BZAdmin, but the bandwidth available on the phone isn't that practical...

Lets not forget that on a cellphone your controls are centimetres apart from each other , on a keybord your hands are atleast 10-20 centimetres apart.
So say even if it was comfertable to play on (it wouldnt be) and even if you didn't get RSI (repetative strain injury) playing on it and the sreen wasn't 2" opposed to 15" to 25" , would you REALY choose phone over computer or laptop ?
