Bullets can't curve. The only inertia-related effect you're going to see is shots moving at an upward or downward angle when you're in mid air. Bullets will never be pulled down by gravity, nor will they keep horizontal velocity - as in, if you are moving in air at an angle perpendicular to the dire...

Chaos theory and entropy are unrelated concepts. Entropy occurs in both chaotic and non-chaotic systems, and is usually measured by non-chaotic means (e.g. Gibbs Free Energy). Ok, you caught me with my intellectual pants down. I guess I was referring more towards entropy, because the tendency for p...

Common sense: if you see a poll to set an unreasonable value, vote against it. If something's already set to an unreasonable value, start a poll to set it back. /poll works both directions, and it only works when a fair number of people want the changes to occur...initiating a poll doesn't automati...

That's a great idea - allow the change, but revert it to the server owner's original settings after a designated period of time. Still, by default, I don't think the server should accept polls on variables, or at least not easily (require a lot of registered users and a high percentage). Is there cu...

I don't care much for the countdown to fiery death idea, but trailing mines would be cool, if a mine would drop automatically and disappear when a certain number of new mines are dropped. You would then want to encircle an enemy in a tight radius. Self destruction is also a neat idea if the blast ra...

I didn't quite work, but I'll try it in a few other permutations. ln -s /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.7 /usr/lib/libssl.so.2 ln -s /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.7 /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.2 ln -s /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.7 /lib/libssl.so.2 ln -s /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.7 /lib/libcrypto.so.2 rpm -i bzflag-2.0.0.20...

Okay this is really starting to tick me off. I can't compile from CVS because my automake/autoconf tools are a wreck - I can't tell if they're installed or not, or where to find the most recent version, or even if I want the most recent version because I don't know what BZ needs. Whether or not I ha...

What's the usual lag for LAN?
I'm used to playing LAN games on my school's linux network. Normally the lag is in the single digits. Today I tried a LAN game on my home network with 2.0.0 instead of 1.10.8, and the lag was really no better than an internet connection. It was above "150 +- 20ms" or so. Is this normal on ...

RPM dependencies needed
I'm trying to install the 2.0 rpm on my Mandrake Community 10.1 system. 1.10.8 works without a problem, but this one apparently has dependencies on packages that I don't have installed. rpm -i bzflag-2.0.0.20050121-0.i386.rpm error: Failed dependencies: libcrypto.so.2 is needed by bzflag-2.0.0.20050...

I like this new setting. While I haven't put it to the test yet, I like the idea that once I spiral my way inward to a GM holder, I know what to do. I never was that great at taking GM down; I could only dodge. The question in my mind is should wings be able to trump GM. But given the number of vari...
