Two Castles draws campers, but I have killed campers in every possible location, every possible weapon on that map. Of course, I also died in similar attempts. :) Probably the absolute worst abuse there, as elsewhere, is caused by the geno campers who like to camp with geno right in front of the ene...

Tried to download this several times already. When using SourceForge to get access to the Win32 exe, get this message no matter which mirror I select. The mirror you've selected, umn.dl.sourceforge.net does not currently have the file you requested. (This is an error on our part which will be fixed)...

Re: Bug on Mac OS X
I'm not sure if this is the place to report bugs, but I wasn't sure where else to do it. I'm running Mac OS 10.2.8 on a G3 iBook, resolution 1024x768. Right when I started up the new beta, it at least got to the main screen (an improvement from 1.10.8 for me). However, the main screen looked very g...

Well I know about concave and convex lenses and angles but that didn't seem to apply since I was playing with a plane, i.e. one of the axis was the same for all 4 vertices. I ran into that when using the tetra objects. They worked fine so long as they were not planar. The rendering doesn't work for...

If you want a server with no shot limits then just set up your own server and perhaps invite some of ya friends along.. If you're a dyed-in-the-wool camper who always likes to make everyone else mad by send insulting, sexually explicit, or other inappropriate messages, odds are you don't have any f...

Also note that the 1-million number is total downloads (over the last 4 or 5 years), not total users. People who upgrade every version will have downloaded about two a year. Not counting people who reinstall, reformat, etc. Yeah, and if you're one of the idiots like me that try to keep up with the ...

My next map was going to be a nanotank map. I've been gathering models for making a desktop (stapler, tape dispenser, coffee cup, pencil holder, keyboard, monitor, mouse, desk lamp, printer, etc. The idea was to make these large enough to have to play around them, but keeping the world size reasonab...

Somebody should make a fix that doesn't count bots as 'players', but instead lists the number of bots up where the server stats are displayed on the server list. Is that easily possible? That's not really practical with the existing code, and probably never. As long as the client is open source, th...

Santa, I don't see any recent bans with your name. There are two recent Class B subnet bans, each lasting 3 days, both for rejoining and/or spamming players that used dynamic IP to get back in after their first ban. I made both of them. If you're caught in one of those, I have no way of knowing with...

Interestingly, that's not even a wiki page, but one of the old static help pages. Wonder how many others like it there are...they should probably be moved into the wiki and updated. Hehehe, guess you'd have to be one of the supersecretadmin forum members to know. ;) Wouldn't it be easier to set you...

I agree with Workaphobia. Burrowed tanks are very weak. ST is great for sneaking up on them, they are slower than all other tanks, SW and GM can take them out from different ranges, and N can be hit, but it's hard to do it. It's hard to last long in a BU tank, only works well if you have lots of clo...

Memnarch brought up an interesting point. A server should have the option to use its own registration system independently of the master list - in case it doesn’t trust admin capabilities to external verification. I assume you would still be able to do this via the /identify system, but that is pro...

quickMessage in 1.10.8 ?
Has anyone else noticed that the quickMessage feature doesn't seem to work as documented? In my config file, I add the following lines: quickTeamMessage1 hi quickMessage1 hi Then I run bzflag. The keys don't do anything (Alt-F1 and Ctrl-F1). I exit bzflag, and I edit the file, and those two lines ha...

I have been observing this happening to a number of people connecting to servers recently. It happened to me twice a couple of days ago, both times when I had been playing on a server for more than 20 minutes. I am not being blocked by my ISP or my firewalls. In each case, it was a busy time of day ...
