sight flag idea
OK I have an idea. How about a flag that allows you to see what is on the other side of a teleporter?
Courage is the magic that turns dreams into reality.

Quick question. What if that teleporter goes to a random location? Then.....
How does looking at your radar help you figure out exactly where another tank is coming from?
I do, however like Davy's idea of being able to see through the teleporter to it's other side, although I'm not sure if it's even possible.

This sort of thing is very possible. The client knows the location of all the tanks and it'd just have to draw whatever is on the other side of the teleporter (I do not know if clients know where the links go or not, if that is the case it could be modified so they do). Anything is possible. It just has to be coded.A Vicious Muffin wrote:... although I'm not sure if it's even possible.
BinarySpike had this idea as a standard feature of BZFlag - not for a flag. Each has their pros and cons, but I could see it'd be more useful in some senses if it was a standard feature.

The client picks tele-points based on the map (does it's own random calculation on random teleporters IIRC)
The problem with this, is on slower video cards this won't work very well, giving faster video cards more of an advantage, when BZFlag gets far enough this might be a feature or flag even.
here's a picture of what I was working on.

(btw that's on lasermania, and no it's not a working mod, just a trick I found... so I don't have an extreme advantage )
