Map joystick buttons greater than 10 (linux)

Post by accountinactive »

Hi all,

As a linux user for 5 years, somehow I only just began playing BZFlag this week. I've figured out most of my joystick configuration without difficulty, but I have not been able to map any joystick buttons above 10 -- jstest allows me to access 16 total.

Does anyone know if 10 buttons is a limitation of BZFlag, or SDL, or maybe just a limit in BZFlag's configuration GUI that could be worked around?

**Update: I also tried manually adding buttons above 10 to my ~/.bzf/config.cfg, but this didn't seem to work either. **

Much appreciated,
MB

I think it's a bzflag issue. IIRC, someone made a patch to make those extra buttons work.

I have this same problem, so I might go searching and see if I can find anything for you.

Thanks for the response. I'll search around a bit for the patch, but it isn't terribly important to me. I was just wondering if I missed something obvious.

Best,

Buttons through 16 are supported by 2.1.
