server won't shut down

running bzfs with -g and -time option set, on the same machine i run bzflag client with bots, problem is bzfs wont shut down when time runs out, so this means that nothing resets. I am assuming that the bots in the client are what keeps it open, i know that normally with no bots, the server will kick normal players and reset, (it will kick bots that come from another client on another machine - go figure)

having both client and server running on the same machine, could they be interfering with each other?

when time runs out, it doesn't kick the ppl, if just stops them from playing.
