intel integrated graphics arent the best for gaming ... you can always pick up a nvidia 5200 or 6200 for around $30-60. on the other hand, if you cant manage so for whatever reason, what OS do you use? i'd assume windows, but i dont want to do what everyone else does :)

Hi AsdMaster,

I have the same problem. Best solution is really to buy a new graphic card, but as written in http://my.bzflag.org/bb/viewtopic.php?p=80184, try to enter the line
set useBitmapFontRenderer 1
in your BZFlag config file. This will help to read the text, but not has no effects on images.

A second option is to use an older version of BZFlag (2.0.6 or at least 2.0.4 should work).

Okay, thx.

And I use windows Mellenium.

I can't actually afford that and if I could I am home schooling so going to buy it would be harder than getting the money.

you should also see if intel has any updated drivers for your card.

it should run aceptably on the lower quality settings.

How do I lower the quality if I can't see the buttons??

Can someone tell me the exact buttons to push so that I can lower the quality?

You know...like up, down, enter, left.

Plz and thank you

To change the quality:
[arrow down] [enter]
[arrow down] [arrow down] [enter]
6 times [arrow down]
And then, left and right arrow keys, depending on the current value of the quality option

Another way to change the quality is to change the quality option in the config file (config.cfg)

Okay so it just changed the backround.

Does the older version of bzflag be able to play on the new version?

like 2.0.7 joining a 2.0.8 server?

You could also try using a Direct3D OpenGL wrapper like GLDirect but that's a nagware trial :(

All 2.0.x versions are compatible. The only difference are graphics and some client-side functionality. You will be able to play with everybody else fine and go to the same servers.

I would try using 2.0.4. It has many features and should work (2.0.6 didn't have as many "big" additions compared to 2.0.4 - IMHO - and 2.0.8 has nothing that affects gameplay/graphics).
