This is my first map. This took me about 8-12 hours of work over the last 4 days. It has over 650 different single items, and makes an ausome CTF map. Its called Amain, I just called it Ambian when i made it but apparently Ambin isent a real word so I found the closest thing Amain :)

Please ask me via email to use the map.

*sings coke leoko theme song wrong*

cool map, quite complex, i like it.
oh, and, map names don't need to be real words FYI...

but i don't think people will like and/or agree with
Alright this is my first map, and its suprisingly AUSOME!
cuz
1)it's YOUR opinion
2)your being overconfident and some people will get annoyed...

ps: it's not paint and gif, it's gif quality in general...

pps:copyrighting bzflag worlds is dumb IMHO...

i can't sing correctly, and copyright makes some people paranoid about hosting maps... just say "plz ask" and an optional "(OR ELSE   )"

That is your opinion which, you are of course entitled to, however inaccurate it may be.

No it's not.
This following picture of a dog is a .gif and you can clearly see that it has perfectly decent quality:

That is your opinion, again, which you are again entitled to, however inaccurate it may be.

smartkid, good work. Keep it up. :)

1. you dont have FULL copyrights to bzflag items your sharing
them with tim riker and the other guy who made bzflag....thier
right to your map superceeds yours in fact...

2. when you posted your map copyrights are assumed
and with the DATE system here it validates who did what first
so your safe posting it here....

3. its silly to post a map here and have people ask you
permission to run it on thier server. on editing it your correct
in asking them to ask you ... as thats just being polite. you
can also ask them to post your name in the server msgs
or in the -public switch

4. names dont need to be real... :D

You're wrong, he owns the copyright to his map. It isn't as
though he's sharing code derived from the bzflag source.
If I draw a picture in GIMP, do the GIMP guys own it? No.

smartkid:
The JPEG format is usually best for screenshots. GIF has
a limited (indexed palette) color space.

I know, but gif is smaller, origanially my capture program does bmp but each pic was 2.2MB lol so i just changed it to gif...

just view the map in BZEdit, much easyer!

thanx, i intend to, I would really like to add base denenses (automated turrets) to it but dont really know how

Iv read that before, thats how I was able to setup my testing server on my laptop. But with my DSL at 128kbs im afraid a public server is out of the question.

Not all of us use Windows(tm), so BZEdit isn't readily
available to all. A Windows emulator can be used to run
it on other OSes, but it really isn't worth the bother to
set it up. The map could also be downloaded and run
in bzfs, but again, not the worth the bother.

Try JPEG to next time around. It has a variable compression
level, so you can tailor the quality to your needs (85% is usually
sufficient). A JPEG with the same image size as yours will look
better (the dithering in your images is quite bad).

Happy? Na, not my style.

Now your pictures suck because you're using stipple
shadows rather then the newer stencil shadows. =)

hmmm it was my understanding that it would a
derivitive thing not a full copyright. esp with open
source stuff...copyrights are such a touchy subject
with so many opinions rather then law i wouldnt want
anyone to cross a line...better safe then sorry so to speak...

i do know that some software comes with full liscense
and limited and some with implied copyrights and others
not...

isnt map code in fact bzflag code? as thats inside
the bzflag source so it can read a map file yes?

----------------------------------------

if he gets it back up a fella i know who makes games
got into a copyright battle "LIVE" that i got to watch
happen in his forum...it got hacked with the new phpbb
hack but he will get it back up...it takes him a few weeks
(its happened before) but he always get its put back up..

basically he got to take the name and principle of a game
from someone else but he lost the graphic so he and the
original game maker both won and lost a copyright battle
which shows you how screwy it can get....

here when ever he puts it back up very interesting read:
http://www.easymessageboard.com/forums/

the thread you want will be "end of atlantis"

here is the bzflag lisc. agreement here:
