Plugin Failed to Load.

BZFLAG VERSION: 2.0.5b5
OS: Windows XP PRO (SP2)

The error message:

Code: Select all

Plugin Failed to Load.
Shows up when I try load over half of the plugins that come with BZFlag. I first noticed this when I tried to load masterbot plugin with the following result.

Code: Select all

If I load the plugin when I start the server, meaning in the bzfs command line, it won't let me or anyone join.

Another time there were 18 people in my server and I started the plugin, then everyone went '[nr]' and soon I and everyone else were kicked from the server.
Other plugins like hiddenAdmin & vocaliser do not work either, but airspawn & shockwaveDeath both work fine. Not sure about the rest. I use to be able to get masterbot work work, don't remeber about the others. Is ther something simple I am missed?

You should load the MasterBot plugin at run-time. Try the -loadplugin argument. Also start your server with -dddd and output to a logfile, so when it does fail we might get an error message. Also, have you tried an earlier 2.0.5 build or 2.0.4? MasterBot was built awhile ago, so there could be a few bugs in the newer APIs...

As for the other plugin problems: I don't know. Maybe a reinstall? Just for kicks. :)

It seems MasterBot loads fine. By the way, it places all logs in the folder BZFS is in and there must be 10 "events" before it even does that (such as kills, talking, etc.).

yes i knew the 10 things, and I thought it puts em in the folder with it. Anyway thats why I thought I would run it in my folder so it would have permissions to. I also tried running it out of C:\path\to\bzflag\ with the same result.

Basicaly all you said was what I knew, is there any fix?

It says:
Masterbot: Loaded
Masterbot: Waiting for a connection
Plugin:D:\Home\Jimmy\worlds\water\logs\masterbot.dll loaded
That makes it sound as though it loaded. Have you tried loading it without any options? Simply, like:
bzfs -loadplugin D:\path\to\plugin.dll

Plugins shouldn't affect clients (unless it crashes the server or does something bad). Can you connect without any plugins loaded?

yes, that is what baffals me. The server window stays open, I just can't connect, nor anyone else.
