to prevent flag-hiding in the scoreboard ...

Post by Tegan »

Putting flag names before callsigns would make flags visible in any font, preventing them from being inadvertently or deliberately hidden by long callsigns and email strings.

A picture is attached.

Please suggest changes (if interested.)

A patch is available (if welcome.)

Not a bad idea.

I failed to mention: if you can't see the image attached, you probably aren't logged in.

Thanks for the replies, but prefered replies would be more like "Good idea, but maybe keep the status symbol adjacent to the callsign," or "Duh! The team flag name is spelled out in CTF, and won't fit in a two-letter column as is," or even "This is too trivial to be considered."
Any of these would be considered useful replies.

I like it. I just have to look in one row to see what flag they have instead of going down, left, down right....

The only thing this might get in the way of is slot numbers (for admins). Otherwise, I love this idea, much easier to see the flag.

i see where your coming from a-meteroite... prehaps the whole block with flags and names could shift over for admins to allow room for the slot numbers. but otherwise great idea!

1) This is a great one, a lovely idea that I would love to see implemented, and included as a viewing/scoreboard option you can set from the settings menu.

2) Don't be so personal when fielding feedback. Maybe no one's been on yet to give the feedback you so desire. But if its "OMG This is the most useful thing since sliced bread!" you seek, then I have no sage advice to give.

3) Its a good and very worthy contribution. I'll be interested to see exactly why it gets shot down.

I like the idea, not fully sure if it will ever be implemented.

The bit about team flags isn't a big issue, I'd say just use R* or whatever the team flag is. Combined with the color highlighting that's already there, it will be very easy to see who's got a team flag.

It's not that trivial... Not to mention, another benefit of this is that it becomes much easier to find which player is carrying a certain flag.

I see no downside, but I think that it would look better if there was something there even when the person has no flag. Maybe "--"?
