Stop! Just stop.

I am sick and tired of the lag limit on servers. I always get kicked because I have dialup. Some people even said, "If you have dialup, then get off this server". I try to keep my lag down, but I cant control it. Im better off not playing bzflag. Im sure people will be glad im gone.

your sad pal, dead metal.

just because people say they don't want you at their server because of lag, doesn't mean they hate you.

I'm very sorry for you that you are forced to think that you have to leave bzflag, because it's a great game.

lag is a very touchy subject...

I know at my server I don't really kick until 500ms or more

I have seen your lag tho. it is really bad (4000ms) (4 seconds)

it makes sit very hard to shoot you cauz you are really jumpy and all that stuff.

but yes the server owners or admins don't hate you, they just don't like people lagging up there servers

Well, I have this new software that really brought my lag down, but I still get kicked.

Do you live in an area where DSL or cable is available?

It would be certainly worthwhile to upgrade to high speed - not just for BZFlag. All web surfing becomes faster with it. :)

I have dial-up also. lag is never below 200 ms. I get called a lagger and stuff like that, but I dont listen, just go on playing.
Games don't make people violent, lag does.

If you get the cable with hight speed, you can even lag alot. I have the best connection on the market and somethime a get to 500ms. It depend if there's alot of people on internet in the same time as you.

Sorry for my really bad english :?
If someone what to try to correct my text, I would appreciate because that would help me to write better post.

I think a lot of things depends on cable high speed. I mean, look at Win Xp, he has cable and can host 30 players easy... it also depends on the server you are playing at. ;)

i have dsl and i drop below 150 once in a blue moon. on dub im usually 180 and get called a lagger for it sometimes. it has something to do with verizon sucking ... my router doesnt have much effect (160 was normal when i didnt have the router connected)

ill be looking into comcast soon enough

Some times the server is just physically far away, that can be a major factor in lag. Also, I jitter more now than before because my ISP is now going out to the 'big world' (i.e. internet), through a location that isn't in my city, aparentally they truck the stuff down a ways, then put it on the net... talk about weird. :|

Yeah. Obviously your lag is going to increase if your crossing the atlantic. Why not try and stick to servers near(ish) you.
