The only way to get 2.0.5 on Mac OS X is through CVS. Do you have the Developer Tools installed? (it came with your computer/copy of Mac OS X)

for what it is worth Hepcat will begin "supporting" cvs builds and regular os x clients as that is the main platform used here. solely for those without dev tools or the time/patience to build it themselves.

obviously not official releases either :)

Please keep us informed as to where and when these are release. With significant new eye-candy introduced in this beta, I'd say there's going to be interest in seeing it early.

and THANKS!

Can't find SDL on Mac OSX?

I tried building bzflag under Tiger, but it appears that I need the SDL library installed. Any idea where to find this? I googled for it but didn't find it.

Thanks for the link. Here's the link to the dmg file for SDL; it's very easy to install. The build is going fine now that SDL is there.

Well... for the first time the xcode project is actually working. :o I get as error, but it's the same as if I compiled on the command line. I'll go back a few days in CVS and see if that fixes it... btw, this is the error:
My command-line and Xcode wrote:Making all in bzfs
source='WorldWeapons.cxx' object='WorldWeapons.o' libtool=no \
depfile='.deps/WorldWeapons.Po' tmpdepfile='.deps/WorldWeapons.TPo' \
depmode=gcc3 /bin/sh ../../misc/depcomp \
g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../../include -I../../include -DINSIDE_BZ -pipe -pedantic -fno-exceptions -W -Wall -Wundef -Wno-import -g -O2 -O3 -ffast-math -fomit-frame-pointer -fexpensive-optimizations -fno-exceptions -c -o WorldWeapons.o `test -f 'WorldWeapons.cxx' || echo './'`WorldWeapons.cxx
WorldWeapons.cxx: In function 'int fireWorldWepReal(FlagType*, float, PlayerId, TeamColor, float*, float, float, int, float)':
WorldWeapons.cxx:64: error: call of overloaded 'broadcastMessage(const uint16_t&, int, void*&)' is ambiguous
bzfs.h:65: note: candidates are: void broadcastMessage(uint16_t, int, const void*, bool)
WorldWeapons.cxx:36: note: void broadcastMessage(uint16_t, int, const void*)
make[2]: *** [WorldWeapons.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
If I can fiix the error by even going back a few days, I would be willing to post Mac builds here. (I doubt they will work on anything other than Tiger - that's what it will be built on)

Have you done the latest CVS? I keep getting errors with it now...

The last buiild I could do was on the 26th of this month. I messed up my CVS folder, and when I use the -R time/date option to go back it won't build. If I go back any later files start dissapearing from the repository...

http://www.yousendit.com/

Here's a website that will let you transfer large files. You upload it to their server and it sends a message to the recipient. You could "send" your 2.0.5 build and then post the link to the file for the few folks who want it.

You could use my e-mail for the "receiver" address - I don't care if that address gets spammed.

Ok, here it is http://users.adelphia.net/~devin_d/. :o

A few of the image files were removed so it would fit and are are listed on the download page. You will just have to add these yourself.

This was checked out of cvs today.

now I don't expect this to work on anything other then 10.4 and maybe 10.3, but here goes.

http://my.bzflag.org/builds/2.0.x/bzfla ... .11.02.dmg

This is a cvs build of the 2.0.x branch as of tonight. It should not link to X11 like the last one I made. It also is plugin enabled, and has premade binarys for some of the sample plugins ( in the plugins dir ). Also included is all the man pages in HTML format, as well as the misc dir full of good "stuff".
I'm just expermentin with difrent package styles.

Please let me know how it works out.

Seems to work good on 10.4.3

Thx Jeff!

My 10.3.9 wouldn't even open the disk image.

Worked like a charm on my 10.3.9.
I'll carry out more "testing" later. 8)

we found out why plugins didn't work in that last one (xcode strips API links out of the bzfs binary ).

so I have made

http://my.bzflag.org/builds/2.0.x/bzfla ... .11.08.dmg

please give it a shot
