But - I've got their neighbor! And a Guided Missile. And a Laser(which the USA doesn't have in service).

PS: And a Cloak which would mean they can't find me!

Cars, signs, billboards, newspaper boxes, etc. will be coming. trepan is working on some significant improvements to BZFlag's graphics engine and I will wait for the next official release to start experimenting with them. Supposedly, higher poly counts will be possible and there will be improvements to allow higher fps with more complex maps. If I were to add the objects I want right now, it would totally kill fps on the map.

I appreciate all of the suggestions and support - I will try not to let you down ;)

I will be adding standard city objects. I may experiment with some of the free models available through 3D Cafe, etc. or make my own. Ideas are welcome, but I don't want to clutter the map excessively - it is fairly narrow and crowded as it is.

I was thinking about converting some 3DCafe cars and giving them to you!

Dont, the cars there are high poly and will suck up fps either make your own or find a low poly model.

That's why I decided not to - just posted the one from Amazing 3D. It's got a lot of faces as well - but I thought maybe not too big as I don't have performance problems. I'm building one of my own right now!

Like I said, trepan is making some significant improvements to the graphics engine that may allow much higher poly counts without hurting fps. We will see - that's why I am waiting for the official release.

Speaking of flies not being able to stick to something - I once made a sphere on Blender with a huge amount of vertices - exported it to BZFlag and that was the smoothest sphere I've ever seen!

Metropolis Revision 2

Post by LouMan »

Soon to come - Metropolis Revision 2. I have been told that changes will be made to next release of BZFlag that will allow higher polygon counts with better performance (fps). When this release of BZFlag has been widely circulated and I have fully tested the Metropolis enhancements, I will release revision 2. Attached are a few screenshots of a few sample objects that will be added to map. I will also be adding road signs, light poles, flags, billboards, etc. if the new version of BZFlag permits...
