Hello,

I am posting here because I don't know where to do instead.^^

I have played Bzflag a very long time ago and know I would like to play in a real team with players and maybe with training and wars in bzflag as well.

Because my callsign seems not to be correct any longer on guleague.org I am asking here and hope you can help me to find a team and so on because I realy don't know what to do and where to start doing something.

Pleas help me.

You need to register your nick on http://www.guleague.org.
Then send a gu site mail to ts or orbit requesting to be added to gu spawn list.

Sorry, but I realy can't find the register part of the page. Where is it?

So, NTH you said you want me to make a post in here, so here it is.

The problem is the same like before. I want a team for bzflag to play with and to have training with, but I cant login on the GU site but I can on the public servers of GU.

So, I hope you can help me. Thanks a lot

This is really what you should do. The GU website will register you by your first log in automatically. Be sure to log in with your BZBB username and password.

I know but it tells me my account is old and I have to update it. And if I do, it tells me the password it wrong, but it isnt.

I updated it manually and did set its status to active. You will need to login using your 'SonGoku'-account from this forum.

Please note that private messages get deleted if you do not login for a certain amount of time to save space on the server.

Thank you for updating my account manually. I tried to login with my account used in this forum, but it didn't work. If I try to login with another possible account which I maybe created before, it tells me the account is already updated, but I am not able to login.

Maybe you could try to create another account or something like that? I realy dont know whats going wrong there.

NTH told me I should contact you to fix the problem and I realy hope you can help me.

I'm afraid I am not understanding what you describe. If you get any error messages please provide them. One does only need to update an old account one time in total. In your case both are updated.

You must to enable cookies until you close your browser (AKA session cookie) at least. In your case you must use the 'my.bzflag.org' link on the 'login' page. The next page is supposed to be from my.bzflag.org (that page with the keys attached to the bzflag icon) so it's the same server that hosts this forum.

As it's not the gu server, we do not get your password (which is good). You enter your username and password from the forum there and then it should log you in.


I hope this helps as I do not see a technical problem on our side that would prevent you to login.

I am sure both accounts are updated.

My old username theSonGoku is in the Player's List also, so this account must exist.

And I am not that stupid not to be able to type in the same information I have to type in here to login at guleague also. But realy, it doesn't work. Slowly I get started to say good bye because I realy dont want to go on your nervs.

Maybe you could try to reset my password to something else and send it to t.ikemann@gmx.net ? Maybe that helps. It seems like it's realy just the password, cause the username works. Its realy mysterious I know, but what else can I do as telling you its not working.^^ I dont get any error massages.

The GU website has no passwords, it just uses 'my.bzflag.org' for authentication. You say above "My old username theSonGoku" but there is no new username; it is still "theSonGoku". You use the EXACT SAME username and password on the GU website as you do here.

I did not mean to offend you. There were users that did type their old bzleague password in the weblogin form repeatedly…
Maybe I found the issue - I seem to have updated only "SonGoku", not "theSonGoku" and there is a bug in the old db importer script. It did create an empty password entry instead of no entry, leading to a not covered case in login code.

If you do not get an error, do you get a "Login was successful!"? What browser do you use?


We only use the old bzleague password to connect username to "forum account". Once that has been done, the password is no longer in use. We also do not create new users if the old users get deleted, instead we reactivate the old account.
