Here's what I do. I design everything in normal SketchUp then I open up Google SketchupPro (Download here http://sketchup.google.com/download/gsup.html - You get eight hours of 'modeling', which is really exporting in this case) and export it to a .obj.
Hope this works

Re: Google SketchUp
Also, it's not the "Model Tool .OBJ" format. Wavefront is the company that created the OBJ format.

Re: Google SketchUp
I found this website which converts .skp to .obj today. It works, I got a model to go to .bzw after some conversions with Wings3D.

Re: Google SketchUp
Sketchup Pro 7 has a free trial with like 10 hours of use or whatever, see here -> http://sketchup.google.com/download/gsup.html
When making stuff in SketchUp, I get it perfect in the free version, open it in the trial, quickly export it, then quit the trial.
This way, I'll almost never run out of usage time

Re: Google SketchUp
if you dont have the pro version, the free is very well made. i found this site that makes sketchup 7 (i think 7, look at the site) that exports to obj then emails the file when its done. Heres the link: http://www.babel3d.com/
works well.
works well.
