Hello Ladies and Gentlemen.

I am sorry for my poor grammar, as English is not my primary language. Please bear with me as I have a problem I can not resolve and am greatly in need of help.

My problem began the moment I installed the new Vista Operating system from Microsoft. I am able to join and play on a number of server, but if I fire a shot there are times where I will be kicked from the server with a message that reads.
"Your end is not using UDP, turn on udp". I do not seem to have this problem on all serves.
I have had this issue for a number of weeks and have tried to install and uninstall a number of different versions ( 2.0.2, 2.0.8, and 2.0.10), and have done the same for my firewall. No mater how much I look at my various settings I can not see the issue.

Any assistance would be helpful.

Thank you.

The problem is with your firewall in some way. There is no setting in BZFlag to block UPD, so the block must be happening at your OS or firewall level. It is probably port related, that is why some servers work and others don't. Not all bzflag games happen on the same port. You should have your firewall setup to give BZFlag.exe unrestricted access to the internet.

I had problems with BZFlag in Vista also, and the XP boxes in the same building had no problems. I ended up disabling Vista's new "network tuning" option, and my problems went away (most of the time). Here is a link on how to do that... http://www.neoblog.co.uk/?p=13

PS it also had the side effect of speeding up my access to network file shares

I assumed that English was not your primary language, if it is, and this is how you choose to type to us, we will have some issues.
