BattleZone retro vector map
I'm working on a retro vector map inspired by the classic BattleZone. My main goal is to create design elements that closely match or slightly improve upon the original game's look and feel.
The work in progress is attached, as well as a screen shot.

Looks nice! The problem is that colored tanks/shots/explosions will look odd in it. But that has to be seen when the map is done.
The theme is new and very cool!

very nice. I've thought about doing something like this for a while but it never looked right. Yours looks perfect.
though by the look of your screenie, your using a massive arc to texture the floor?
you can use this code to texture the floor:
I.E If you call the material GroundMaterial it re-textures the floor instead of grass.
You can do this with skyboxes too i think, but I don't know the material names.
also for the outer walls, you can do: Which will set the height of the outer walls to 0.

Looks like Spectre, how I loved that game.
Merry Christmas!

No rogues as they are almost impossible to see, thinking about taking out the green team too.

Take a look at my Defender game mode concept.
Thinking is not an automatic process. A man can choose to think or to let his mind stagnate, or he can choose actively to turn against his intelligence, to evade his knowledge, to subvert his reason. If he refuses to think, he courts disaster: he cannot with impunity reject his means of perceiving reality.

Oh yeah, I must a been about 4 when that was still around, never did well at it, but appreciated it as a great game.Tropican8 wrote:That game was awesome! I didn't realize anyone else had heard of it.CannonBallGuy wrote:Looks like Spectre, how I loved that game.
This reminds me of the original Asteroids, my dad rocked at that, often staying up till midnight (seemed so late to me at 4 years old). Oh, and Dirt Bike... I found that one again recently - was playing for hours!
Merry Christmas!
