The Curve

Post by L4m3r »

Random idea I had while doing some math homework. The shape of the map is based on the curve (surface, technically) z = xy. Generated by PHP.

Blue vs. Green CTF.

Now playing on l4m3r.servegame.com:4201.

That map is an overdraw nightmare.

Yeah, that map is pretty cool, nice the way you tied in color with it. Too bad it slows fps to a crawl.
Can you plug different mathematical progressions into the php that created it, l4m3r? it might be better used for small sections of map, instead of an entire map.
Take a look at my Defender game mode concept.

Thinking is not an automatic process. A man can choose to think or to let his mind stagnate, or he can choose actively to turn against his intelligence, to evade his knowledge, to subvert his reason. If he refuses to think, he courts disaster: he cannot with impunity reject his means of perceiving reality.

Sure... I would just need to know the size and number of divisions, and the equation.

Any equation? Like... y = 3x^2 - 9x + 2 ?
I'll let you decide on the squares and divisions... :P

Any 3-d surface equation, in the form z = f(x,y). :p That one doesn' quite work.
