BZFlag beta build 1.11.23
BZFlag beta build 1.11.23
Instead of just tacking new builds onto a single long testing post, I'm going to be making a new sticky topic for each vesion.
So today we have 1.11.23.
Windows Installer.
http://bzbb.bzflag.org/builds/1.11/bzflag1.11.23.exe
(requires directX 7 + )
Macintosh Disk Image
http://bzbb.bzflag.org/builds/1.11/BZFlag-1.11.23.dmg
(requires SDL)
WINDOWS USERS
If you are a windows user using anything before windows XP, then you may need to update your directX version, ether run windows update, or go here and get the latest runtime, http://www.microsoft.com/directx/
MACINTOSH USERS
This is the first mac build I have done, please let me know how it works. It dosn't have all the slickness of the normal release DMG, but it should work. The build MAY only be compatable with 10.3, I don't know. You will want to get the SDL runtimes if you do not allready have them, they can be found at, http://www.libsdl.org/release/SDL-1.2.7.pkg.tar.gz

Just out of curiosity, what's the deal with SDL on Mac OS X? I do not remember installing it before (how can I tell if it is and the version?), things work fine with BZFlag 1.10.8, and I have not needed it to get builds of 1.11.x I have made myself before to work.
EDIT: Okay, I ran off to the SDL website and got version 1.2.7 installed. Unfortunately, the binary you posted still does not work (Mac OS X 10.3.6), and running it with the terminal gives the following error:

I do know that the SDL installer I downloaded put it's stuff in "/Library/Frameworks/SDL.framework/". I hope maybe some of this helped.dyld: /Users/skidz/Desktop/BZFlag-1.11.23.app/Contents/MacOS/bzflag can't open library: /sw/lib/libSDL-1.2.0.dylib (No such file or directory, errno = 2)

Beware! I'm going to clone myself and spread those clones all over the world!

RB, a few questions:
1. Which map of mine are you referring to?
The physics drivers map?
2. What is your FPS when this sensitivity
reduction occurs? That PhyDrv map is nasty
for FPS because it has the mirror enabled,
rain enabled, and a boat load of flags.
3. Does this primarily occur on a moving surfaces?
Newer client builds will allow you to individually
turn off the rain, mirror, track marks, etc... Although
I don't think that any of these features would cause
your problem in isolation, it may be worthwhile for
you to play with them.
I'll also note that the basic mouse-to-movement
interface on the client side hasn't really changed all
that much. The only places that you should notice a
real difference is while flying or on an ice patch.
