BZFlag on Steam Deck - Error creating window

I'm trying to get BZ to run on my Deck, but it crashes immediately. I get the following error:

Could not set Gamma: Invalid window.
Could not set Video Mode: Invalid window.
Error creating window - Exiting

Any ideas on how to solve this?

How did you install the game and how are you launching it?

I installed it from the Discover store (flatpak). I've tried running it through the normal Gaming Mode, the desktop and the CLI

I'm not sure why, but it works now. Probably just needed a reboot.
