Trackball
I have finally decided to give up trying to use a mouse (always have been better with kb anyway), but does anyone have any experience using a trackball for BZ? I've always wanted to try it..

Re: Trackball
Uh, not really, but it sure sounds interesting.
Well, since I'm a keyboard user myself and the trackball sounds like an advanced mouse-usage, I wouldn't give it a try in any way.
I've been using keyboard all these years, and am probably one of really rare who is as good, if not better with it than the top mouse users.
The very best tend to use the mouse, since you can choose the speed of driving far more accurately at one moment, as well as trigger your whole pack of shots at once (mouse scroll). At keyboard, you cannot do that, but you can still own big time if you know what you're doing.

Re: Trackball
I'm much better with kb just because it is so much more predictable, and my desk is rarely clear enough to use a mouse well.. So I did order a trackball for fun, I guess I'll let you know..

A few members of the Red Baron clan were quite deadly with their trackballs...

Re: Trackball
I liked the trackball in ducati - made for faster dodging, moves. Was too fast for me in gu with the jumps.
The barons were amazing with it in both ducati and gu.

Re: Trackball
I believe Thumper also used a trackball. That would not necessarily be a resounding endorsement, but he was at least as good as me with my mouse. Ok, that probably doesn't make it any better. I'll just be quiet now...

I've been using the trackman from Logitech for years. Much better for me than a mouse. Never got the hang of the keyboard.

Re: Trackball
Took about a month, but I'm at least as good with a trackball as I was with a kb now. I would recommend using a trackball for all types (gu, duc whatever), especially if you have difficulty with a mouse. There is a learning curve but it's simply a matter of getting used to it and getting your settings dialed in.
