Re: hi
In case the team is open you can freely join it and play matches for it.
If you'd like to join a closed team send an application to the team or the team's leader (via the message to team tool). The team's leader or the entire team will then invite you to join the team - or not if they decide against.
Do not wait until a team want's you in any case.

Re: hi
Best bet, 17, is to play on the public servers...so that players get to know you as a tanker. Hard to invite someone you don't know....though it has happened.....just not the norm.

And first off, there is a gu site. Asking to join teams and stuff should be done on there. http://www.guleague.org/
Re: hi
Or, you could start your own team, and try to recruit a few players who are online at similar times as you. While you are new, be prepared for your only recruits to be of a similar skill level as you, and you will probably lose a lot of matches at first versus teams that are much more experienced. Have patience, watch and learn from other people when you play them, and be willing to be taught by experienced players when they give you suggestions or when you join them for practice from time to time. It may be frustrating at first, but stick with it and let the competition drive you to improve... it's fun!
Also remember... there is no shame in losing to someone who is much better than you. The ranking system is set up so that when highly ranked teams match versus low ranked teams, a loss for the low ranked team will only cost you a few points.
