Last night I was trying to find people to buddy up with to try to cover each other and get some good crossfire action going, with little success. People just went out and started blasting with little regard for what their team mates were doing.
I was wondering if people would be open to flags that require collaborative efforts to use.
Like a reflex canon flag. You would be immune to friendly fire, but you can not shoot on your own. If a team mate shoots you, your tank basically amplifies the shot, sending out a buckshot like cone of bullets.
Or like was mentioned before, but rejected, a flag that puts a hemisphere shield in front of you. You can't fire, but you can escort team mates through heavy fire areas.
Basically, some flags that require cooperative play to be effective, but when used right, are a little more powerful than a normal flag.

May I also point out that no matter how hard you lobby, adameros, you're not going to convince any devs about the hemisphere idea . Though your flag examples may not be the ones I would pick to create, I am a very strong advocate for your concept of increasing the necessity of team work. Occasionally there is some vocal tank who attempts to coordinate a massive charge, but everyone really wants to do there own thing. That's just fine, that's what I want to do too. But it would be nice to have more ways to interact with other players than the chat box.

The place to find the most teamwork is leagues (gu duc ol pillb.).
I believe its bztank that is working with an online server to connect voice chat. check out bztank.net for more info. asking a bzt admin about that is best.

Try to play Bz how it is, it makes the whole game different if you try to put in too much out of the box thinking flags and what-not.

Or maybe a plugin that requires players stay in a field of 50x50 or 100x100. That could make the team work together better. Or maybe it would just force EVERYONE to camp.

While both of the ideas you suggested in the first post would probably be impossible to implement, I agree that it would be nice to have some more ways to encourage teamwork on public maps (best way is by plugins- not whole new flags). However, if you really want to find teamwork, join a league.

Re: Flags to encourage team work...
A few months ago there was the "All Hands On Deck!" server at bzpro.net. It had a special plugin that required (almost) all of your teammates to be on the base with you to capture the enemy flag. It was fun when there was enough cooperation, but frustrating when there wasn't.
On regular public maps you simply cannot count on cooperation from your teammates even though it usually leads to severe pwnage. As others have already mentioned, the leagues are the place to find teamwork.
