Screenshot with tanks posing
I was thinking about a nice screenshot where about a dozen tanks all look towards the camera, posing as if they were posing for a picture. I wanted to take the picture while roaming and looking downwards from somewhat up high in the 'Castle Warfare - Laser and GM Sniping' map. But I couldn't get people to stop shooting each other and look towards the camera (they can't see the camera floating in the air).
If someone has an idea to take this picture let me know!

Get a bunch of people on a private server that want to do it, and, well, do it...

You can use Tank-Models and you can place them in a map.
Like my Wallpapers.
I used a Tank-Model and some grass.
But I think the tanks don´t look very realistic.

Re: Screenshot with tanks posing
What I did once to get a cool screenshot was to actually modify the server to spawn specific tanks (based on the slot number) in a specific location. I also set the tank speed to 0. Then I modified the client to join solo bots to a specific team based on the order they were joining. And I also made it so that robots wouldn't shoot. I then joined the server as an observer with the necessary number of bots. Kinda overkill, but it was still fun.

How can I do that?blast wrote:modify the server to spawn specific tanks (based on the slot number) in a specific location.
Re: Screenshot with tanks posing
There is another way i could think of. making invisible boxes (also no shots). There is a problem getting that many people to go and do this, so when this is ready you could tell us a time, and i'm sure you would get enough people here (I would).

you can also try to use spawn zones... http://my.bzflag.org/w/Zone although i think only 5 tanks would spawn correctly

I'd help you do it, but we'd need to set a time and server. Or you could use a local server and run many clients. Of course, if you do it on a public server, be sure to have tank labels on in your client so they can see it's us (all the tanks seem to look the same).

Take a look at my Defender game mode concept.
Thinking is not an automatic process. A man can choose to think or to let his mind stagnate, or he can choose actively to turn against his intelligence, to evade his knowledge, to subvert his reason. If he refuses to think, he courts disaster: he cannot with impunity reject his means of perceiving reality.
