Great time!

It was great to play Overlord last night (and tonight, too!). Thank you divi, Constitution, TangenT, et al. I had just returned from a week in Cali helping my little brother and hadn't been able to play BZ. (I was tethering my Treo's EDVO for an internet connection on my MacBookPro, and the lag was ...

Managed balancing of teams on CTF maps might keep players interested. When one team is stacked with the best players, it can become frustrating for the players on the team that is getting slaughtered, both for the newbies and the experienced players.

Not many players

I have played everynight this week (actually, I have played every night for the past year), and aside from mofo, missle wars, IIRC, and a couple of other servers, there were hardly any players. Last night, from about 1100PM until 100AM (GMT-5), there were aproximately 40 active players on the entire...

gnu-b:

It would seem to be very useful information. Would the data be collected solely from the server and player logs or would surveys/questionaires or other instruments be necessary?

I do not know much about SNA, but I would be willing to help.

Great. I'm willing to share some costs. (I don't know diddly about computers, however, so I can't contribute much there.)

The BZ open source/freeware criterion, TTBOMK, applies to LGPL licensing (code, distribution, copyright) and a prohibition for charging players to play. While the BZ client is freeware, and the servers, for the most part, are unrestricted, some players might be willing to contribute to the operation...

CYA

Dear Comrades in Arms: I never played any other computer or video game except BZ (other than pinball and old arcade games). I learned to play BZ on Silvercat. It was listed on the first page, so I signed on. If I had known more about BZ and that I would be playing with many of the top players worldw...

When I am playing and my kids want me, I ashamedly sometimes tell them, "Give me a minute, I just got laser," "Contamination is chasing me with WG," or "Wait, I'm going to CAP." With my wife, it's "Yes, Dear, I'll be right there." That's when I press N and wri...

Don't forgot everyone has a life and BZFlag isn't always at the top of the "to-do" list :) LOL, Grace F. We did play a little one-on-one last night just after your post, and you kicked my bum. I forgot about the summer, although when I started playing last year there were usually groups o...

IS BZ DEAD? (the public servers)

There seem to be fewer and fewer players. I log on several times per day, and there are rarely two or three dozen players on the combined public servers. Just a few months ago, there were players on a dozen servers. There were always players on babel and overlord, but the silvercat maps have disappe...
