Re: Crossfire Citadels
Played on it a while ago, thought it was well made. It might be interesting to think of adding a few shield flags, narrow, tiny... some non-Laser/GM flag. ;-) It was fun, stayed there for a good while. Good settings, well done. One concern is that in a few moments people can rocket halfway across th...

Re: Fusion server is off for good
Bother, I liked your servers. I would also like it tremendously if you played again. Thanks for your hosting of it for such a long time anyway. And your scores at badgerkings was a mixture of time spent there and skills. You just wouldn't admit it.

Re: Lagstats in replays
Wouldn't it be possible to create a "bot" of sorts who would sit in observer mode during matches, rather like the logging bots people put up? It could at certain times perform /lagstats and then it would chat to the observer team with the lagstats received of the players involved. I'm not ...

Re: Fun!
The Open League and Fun League overall systems didn't really work for me... I might join if for some reason the Fun League was resurrected, but I most likely wouldn't be very active in it. I tend to think that when people can "rate" how fun a match is, there is always going to be abuse.

Re: Shirts, Shirts Shirts, and a few hats..! (Restock)
If there are any hoodies ordered in the near future, you can be 99% positive I'll buy one. I don't know if it's possible, but perhaps you should also look into mousepad production, keychains, etc. Perhaps people have money for smaller items that could be of use to you and the development team but ca...

Re: Looking for the best mouse for BZflag
I don't think there is such a thing as the "best mouse." It varies depending on the person and I'd say just find one that's comfortable for you to play with, especially if it isn't expensive. :-) I play with a Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse (USB). It was like $10-$15 when I got it, and I've...

Re: Settings
A lot of players just focus on shooting and jumping. There really isn't a player who is best at dodging, shooting and jumping. Ya gotta decide what you wanna focus on more, as long as you're good at one of 'em you can be a good player. I wouldn't necessarily call myself good... but I do have plenty...

Re: Big annoyance
To further add to this, when a new team is created it changes their previous rating. This is not that big of a matter as a whole, but it does offset how normal scoring would work. I think the reasons supplied are good enough, though.

Nice work, zaphod. I'm a little against the current settings. It makes it very difficult to climb pyramids and it feels like you have to really reach to make a jump to a block. Overall, however, it's got a really fun feel. I don't know if you remember or not, but I miniaturized some maps a while bac...

Re: 1st official pillbox league pick-up contest!
I think the main reason the tournament "didn't work," even though I'm sure it would have if given a little more time, was the positioning. I know that personally I've had one event after another come up during the holidays and a few days after New Years. Perhaps we could consider reviving ...

I picked mine while playing the ducati style servers back in the 1.x versions. Everybody was really good and I was new to ducati. So I became a "wannabe" in attempts to catch them in scores. :-) Perhaps an activity you're involved with? Favorite animals? Heh... secret agent names? :| Dunno...

Re: Language Spoiling The Experience
Well, if certain players enjoy the atmosphere at Planet M, that's entirely up to them. As mentioned, it is correct, server owners have the right to allow or disallow language and be lenient or very strict about it. As for this: People who have such a big problem with language are an overrepresented ...

Re: Language Spoiling The Experience
Aren't we being just a little self-righteous? As people have explained already, servers are privately run and owners can set rules as they please. Client-side filtering is probably your best option. What exactly makes you the type of player that the game "needs"? What puts you in a positi...

Re: Help with map
On relatively open maps, small patches (or "forests") of pyramids are sometimes helpful. It helps to break up the monotony a bit when you're driving for long distances. Typically, there are a lot of tall, thin pyramids... or a few fat, short ones. I think that would help you a little bit, ...

Re: why genocide on ctf maps?
Alright, people say Genocide makes people go after personal gain far too much, and detracts attention from capturing flags. Bottom line is, Rabbit Hunt, Capture the Flag, and Free For All servers... every single one... people go for personal gain. That's why people play online games. I understand th...
