Re: 3D Progams - best one?
JeffM made a plugin for the Unity Engine editor. Not sure if it’s actively maintained or works with their latest versions, but it worked pretty well when I last tried it. I used it to create the Choke Point map. There’s a topic on this forum somewhere for it.

Re: New Release: 2.4.18 "Do You Hear What I Hear?"
macOS build posted, but to reiterate, there are no changes affecting macOS users between this version and 2.4.16.

The macOS build has been posted. And while what blast said is true, there is a nice fix for the window flickering when you start the game, courtesy of tupone.

Re: New Release: 2.4.16 "Reduce, Reuse, Replay"
Hi, thanks for the new release but at witch time will be the release for Mac OS be ready? About? Thanks a lot, I have a lot of fun, playing BZFlag with my 27"-iMac. I will try to have it up within a few more days. There are bugs in certain versions of Xcode that we have to maneuver around when...

In the application properties, try disabling fullscreen optimizations, or manually selecting various HiDPI settings, and see if any of those make a difference.

Re: server admin best practices?
Why do you feel it's excessive? Because it's too aggressive in your opinion, or not aggressive enough? I know that some folks playing from around the world have varying levels of lag and jitter and it isn't something they can control if their connection isn't that great. I'm looking to strike a hea...

Re: New Release: 2.4.14 "Hello Motto"
The macOS binary was recompiled with an older Xcode version and re-posted. Nothing else was changed, but we discovered that building with the latest Xcode tools causes some issues with the program, such as the inability to iconify with F4 on macOS 10.13 High Sierra. If you are not running macOS High...

You are welcome to alter the source code and build your own client to change the color of the hunt underline or the blink interval if you think they could be improved. You could even report back to us if you find objectively better values so that we can consider changing them in the official code. I...

Re: More powerful API
Infinite variation does not make for a good experience. Several of our remaining developers agree that we should be trying to make the core game mechanics more consistent, not more varied. Making superflags do things other than what they were intended for (such as allowing tanks with Seer to fly) wi...

Re: Spring 2018 HiX Triples Challenge
This is a reminder that we have a little less than a week to go until this tournament. We have some strong looking teams registered so far. It would be great to have another few teams. If you don’t have a team yet, if you show up a few minutes beforehand you may be able to find others like you to gr...

Muted Chat Helper Plugin
A new experimental plugin is being deployed to LeaguesUnited servers. This plugin arose from the predicament of players who are on the mute list and therefore unable to communicate with others to arrange matches or communicate with their team about match strategies during the game. This plugin will ...

There is some setting that affects that... I think you have to turn off “jumping while typing”... it may also have to do with whether you are driving by mouse or keyboard.

Re: How do I compile plugins?
Ok, so how do I compile it for a MAC OS system? I've tried copy-pasting, but that didn't work. You can compile it on the command line like you would on other unix-based operating systems, or you can search the wiki for instructions on compiling plugins, which will tell you how to add a plugin to th...

Re: Flag Cap Counter & League Team Chat
The entire scoring system in BZFlag is sub-optimal and needs to be revamped. For example, having a significantly negative score is discouraging to new players who are trying to learn the game. Giving out points for carrying or capturing the flag, or at least rewarding those things in some way, shoul...

Re: New HUD UI
I think some of the concepts are a step in the right direction. :) Also I don't like the idea of fundamentally different sights for the different weapons unless you're talking about something other than the mousebox. The mousebox needs to be a box because that's the shape of the dead zone (unless bo...

2400 world size? It seems pretty difficult to navigate. And did you intentionally decrease the radar limit? It does seem that you put a lot of work into it, though.

(At the time, I thought OpenGL ES wanted to do everything with shaders) I wasn’t going to name names. :) But I think everyone else had the same perception (including me, until I investigated it). Back to the original issue... you should be able to find a package or create one yourself. If it suppor...

Re: BZ running with WINE emulator?
I do not believe there is any way of currently being able to play BZFlag on Android. The whole client would need to be rewritten in Java to get it to work. That is so very untrue. You beat me to it. :P This reminds me of the days when people argued that the "entire graphics code" would ne...

Re: Issue with macOS High Sierra
Apple has a bit of a history of driver problems with the Intel HD 4000. I remember several years ago BZFlag ran at around 5-10 FPS on Mac OS X 10.8 or 10.9, I think. It was fixed shortly after that, but I’ve heard several reports of graphics driver issues with High Sierra. The first thing to do is t...
