Re: Mac SVN/Compile instructions
When trying to build, I got the same error as earlier mentioned above. "xcodebuild -target development" doesn't work. What is PBXCp? I deleted my bzflag folder and tried a new checkout. No results. Same problem. Could it be that one of my files is corrupted? What do libcurl and libcrypto d...

Re: Coming Soon...
It's youtube, and jefenry hasn't deleted the video. It still works and it is still there. I would look for the problem locally
i.e. it is a problem with your computer, not the video

Re: Licensing
Thats a very good point, blast. And I was wondering, and I have for awhile, does CC really have any legal value? Don't you have to go through some process to get something copyrighted? If I just say "Creative-Commons Attribution Share-alike", does someone really even have to follow those g...

Re: Thunders ultimate CTF
It's an interesting map. It has mostly boxes withh no texturing etc., yet it does look like HiX, or one of good, simple maps. I suggest putting more boxes in the open field area as it is rather, well, open.
Thanks for the screenshots, AW.

Are maps that are on the public list for BZFlag available and editable by anyone? If not, then should there be a -saveworld function?

I don't appreciate that, joevano. This is a pointless waste of your time and mine. :) Its a very good idea to post screenshots, as some people don't want to have to set up the map themselves to look at it. You are much more likely to get your map hosted if you seem prepared and know what you are doing

Re: Going to try to make a BZW editor
I would work on BZWorkbench, as joevano suggested. Another one would take to long to develop.
It would be a better idea to make BZWRK better, imhao.
If a lot of this project would be you trying to get experience, however, I would say go for it.

Re: Beginner tips?
Change the key mapping to something easier. For instance, mine is:
fire- q
jump- tab
lockon- ~`
drop flag- spacebar
Those are the ones that matter. It makes them all close together so that you can do those with one hand a lot easier. Doing this made me a lot better.

Noesss. Do you think that will be implemented in the foreseeable future? It would add such a huge level of gameplay.
But you would have to make it so that a DI objects path is no longer exclusively spherical, as it would be weird to hop on a box in orbit... very weird

Re: Voting
The only thing I can think of would be to make some sort of one player tutorial that'd be built into the game, and teach some techniques in addition to commands and things. That would be a lot more complicated, and if your trying to make this game more user/non-programmer friendly, then it would be...

Re: Dodging GM's while in the air
Of course, all of this speculation depends on what the map-maker (or server-host) set the GM turn angle as, if turnangle/tankspeed ration is fairly high, you can't dodge it. If it is low, its easy. And moving at a 90 degree angle is not really dodging it in midair.
This also requires wings.

Very, very, awesomely, cool. I like the plasma ball, its a cool concept. You said something about spinning... are there spinning, non drive-through DI objects in 3.0? That would be nice.
Very good map, hope you are able to complete sooner than anticipated .

That's fairly common. The thing is, this topic wants to know who you know. It's a pointless waste of time to tell us that you know people, and then not tell us the actual callsigns of the people you know.

Re: Free hosting from BZBureau**
Stagnate, my foot. It was not so long ago that these kind of hosting services were not available. I'd say then we had a much better great-to-crap map ratio. That's just my opinion though. Yes, the "great-to-crap" ratio may have been better, but you also have to add the number of maps to t...

Re: Free hosting from BZBureau**
If people weren't free to host their own maps and get them out on the server list, even they're not that great, then the development process of maps would begin to slow down, maybe even stagnate.
