Hepcat Closed Permanently
The hepcat.org bzflag servers are down for good. I ask that other operators do not use the word hepcat in their server dns/description which is confusing. The maps are freely available for others to host. I have asked Jeff to remove the hepcat global groups/perms as well. Thanks to all of the hepcat...

callsign
cosmos has been my unix login since 1988, my irc nickname, and anything else that requires a nickname/alias/callsign. heck some folks even call me cosmos in the real world :) talk about a boring story behind a name but when i was installing unix system v release 2 for the first time and i had to cre...

ANTIBAN and whitelisting clarification
If a group has the ANTIBAN permission shouldn't any user in that group be immune from a host/ip/master ban? i know that attempting to ban while the player is in the game is prevented but a test I ran with one of my admins where i banned the entire ip range he connects from before he joined the serve...

Hepcat Map Rotation
We changed it up a bit and added our classic pillbox to the rotation. There are now 3 maps in rotation, Pillbox/Babel/Overlord. Also if you really do insist on sending death threats and other profanity laced garbage to me via email because you do not like a particular map please run it through spell...

Re: Event Based World Weapons
I have enabled this on the hepcat overlord map which is currently suffering from too much base and spawn camping making gameplay unfair. we will see how this works out. thanks jeff Worked out an issue with JeffM today and can now utilize multiple oncap shockwaves per team cap. For instance on the O...

Re: Event Based World Weapons
I have hooked up a new way to trigger a world weapon. You can now trigger them on a couple of events. Events such as; A flag capture A player geting killed A player spawning. These can be used to clear a base after a capture, or for something more visual like fireworks on a spawn, death, or capture...

I like your solution cosmos! Have you posted somewhere the explanation of how to enable that setting? Yeah its simple and i think we have discussed it alot recently on #bzflag between JeffM and myself at least. give the TALK ability to all groups you want to and then for the EVERYONE group make it ...

Re: Anyone miss grassroots?
I've been advertising as much as i could around the servers but I haven't gotten much of a reaction... Personally I've been missing it there, i mean it was just fun. Anyways if you would want to go back its at: bzflag.disconnected.de port 5155 it seems to be lacking administration...still the same ...

Re: How to stop raceist ranting

Once = they got their message across 10 times is bad for young kids who see this. Is there any way to stop multipol postings? Tanksolot The solution I came up with on the hepc...

Re: CTF-Quadlord (CTF-Overlord for four teams)
I figured, since I'm on a 4-team CTF creation stroll, I just as well do one more. You've probably seen CTF-Overlord. It's a two-team CTF game with a large open field in the middle. Cubic bases. My idea is to scale them down just a little, allowing room for 4 such bases. I might alter the architectu...
