I'm posting this on behalf of Zongo (for the original conversation, check the May 25 #dub logs) : What I fear is that if the point system is adopted then the teams will only play 15 min matches and try to match as much as possible. Unless the suggestion to weight wins with respect to length of the g...

Cap Limit (proposed by Zongo)

I'm posting this on behalf of Zongo (for the original conversation, check the May 25 #dub logs) : Games should be declared won at 10 flags like in the 1vs1 league. I insist on this point - I felt very bad the first time that i lost 23-0 vs VBZ, and many new teams just quit the league coz they get pw...

I'm posting this on behalf of Zongo (for the original conversation, check the May 25 #dub logs) : Concerning players: IMO it is important to record who played a game and to vote for a mvp each game. It can also be a nice thing to have a CTF stats for players (number of flags captured by a player dur...

I may repeat myself but DO NOT punish inactivity but reward activity. The point ladder i experienced on the 1vs1 league works fine imo.

I'm posting this on behalf of Zongo (for the original conversation, check the May 25 #dub logs) : About seasonal league: It's important to have a break between 2 tournaments. I experienced it with the 1vs1 league, each end of month it's a bit messy. What i suggest is to have at least 2 weeks break b...

One big problem with the ducati league is that it seems some kind of closed. Maybe all the people who play for a long time never made that experience, but i still remember that i started with both maps/leagues, GU and Ducati. And although im playing for quite a while now, i still feel like i'm a st...

I just haven't had a lot of time. I got my [F]usion teamates from GU to join the league and I hope to be getting active with them shortly. Sorry I was gone for so long. Real life called and still does, but I'm trying to make time. Hopefully I can get more people playing ducati league again. Some ne...

Players have given a lot of input. And i say a lot. Thanks for your post, mistake. You are right, the players have given a lot of input. The topics that have been discussed and proposed are varied, and in many instances, complicated. Please realize that while other issues continue to be discussed a...

Re: A question to the Council

However, there is one subject I see nowhere on the duccouncil forum or on the ducati league discussion forum: How do we deal with some things that have happened? With some behaviours that have been "adopted" by some players? [T]he council needs to hear more from the players. We are getting...

2. At every ducati map, there are only 8 player slots. In crowded evenings, the map is always full, and the people are switching to gu or another server. Of course there are several ducati-style servers, but it would be better to have one big server with much people on it. I'd say the server should...

Seeing as how no one has yet commented on your ideas, mistake, I'll take a shot. Up to this point, I had been leaning toward [dmp]'s idea of an activity factor (rather than deleting points outright from a team). However, you've made an excellent case for a seasonal/cumulative ladder approach. activi...

This is a little radical, but would help introduce new blood ( ) to the new league like meacan's Jr Team idea: Every established team (one that has been active for 6 months (for example) and/or has a rating of 1200 (for example) or higher) must recruit at least one "Jr. Player" ...

Interesting ideas, dmp. I had heard the activity factor one before. It certainly has possibilities. I'd be interested in hearing more what others think about its usefulness. On the Jr. teams, I was actually thinking of something similar when reading tokimi's post. Your idea is much more thought out,...

Ideas from Ares

I had a long discussion with Ares a month or so ago. He had a number of suggestions, that I asked him to post here. He had already deleted his bzbb account, so I am posting them in his stead. "1) Team score should be cleared at least every year, if not more often 2) Non-active teams should loos...

I chatted with Foo earlier on a server, and he asked me to post this publicly. In each post, someone suggests some sort of change. Two things must be gleened from the post: (1) what is the change the person is asking for, and (2) what is the underlying issue the change is designed to correct. While ...

1. Hunt/addhunt works fine the first time you connect to a server. However, if you connect to a new server without restarting the client, hunt/addhunt no longer works. 2. There's the problem. 1.7 is an extremely old version of bzflag and there are no longer any servers that run that version. Try downloading 2.0.2. It's available on bzflag.org or sourceforge.net.

I'd appreciate it if you would all stop the personal attacks. If they continue, I will lock and/or delete this thread. There is also a full list of servers on this forum. Feel free to try those. And yes, you have to put in the full server name or ip and then separately, the port number.

CBG, I'm not sure that what you described is actually what is happening. Tupone is going to look at the code and try and sort out what is actually happening v. what should be happening.

Cosmos, We've been using antiban and until recently, I thought it worked perfectly. I had one guy that we had whitelisted (i.e., given antiban privileges) who was able to join just fine for a long time, but then when we banned his sister, he got banned too. His sister was banned using an straight IP...
