This can be achieved by using .command files (on Mac OS X, I assume it's also possibly on other OSs...). Create a .command file which would run a command like: /Path/To/BZFlag-2.0.8.app/Contents/MacOS/BZFlag -options... Where -options... can be -config and/or -configdir used to specify what config ...

I think that this would be a very welcome feature. Static maps, as they are now, rather limit mapmaker creativity (in my opinion). Physics drivers have been really cool, but actually enabling the objects to move would be great. This might actually be the one biggest change for the better that the de...

I'm sure that we would all like to help, but I doubt that anyone can offer any assistance without knowing a little more about your system. ;) Operating system/architecture/OS version/graphics card type is a good place to start.

Yeah, loading two instances of the plugin at once will probably not work (it doesn't work on Linux, at least). I am working on updating the plugin to allow for multiple team/flag assignments, but that hasn't happened yet. When it does happen, it will work something like this: -loadplugin /path/to/fl...

Mac .so build and source code file attached. Syntax is: /loadplugin (or -loadplugin) /path/to/plugin/flagOnSpawn.so,<flag>:<team> "Team" can be -1 (all teams); 0, rogues; 1, red; 2, green; 3, blue; or 4, purple (I think that I got blue and purple in the right order). "Flag" can ...

Wow, I have no idea what the problem could be. Does it do it when you use the fairCTF plugin without my modifications? Makbe try doing a "make clean", and then recompiling everything?

Hmmm, I looked into cosmos' problem a little deeper, and discovered that there may have been a problem with the patchfile somehow. I'm almost certain that it patched okay on my machine at first (Mac OS X 10.4), but I had troubles similar to what cosmos had today. In any case, for those of you who've...

TangenT: I'm not sure what the problem you were having could possibly have to do with the changes I made with the patch. I would more likely blame it on a library/linking/configuration error. If anyone who's a C++ expert can identify a problem with my code, I'd be very happy if they could point it ...

I usually only get bored when there are very few people, the game on the server I'm playing on has been getting repetitious, or if my computer is just too slow for me to do any better than I have been. ;) Playing BZFlag 7-8 hours straight can kind of wear it out, too. I've only been playing for less...

I've created a simple patchfile that changes the plugin's behaviour somewhat. This file should patch against the current 1.2 version of the fairCTF plugin source code. This patch implements the following features: 1. Teams are now free to carry their own team flags at any time. 2. The weaker team (t...

lame :-P one reason I don't like it... if they are really good with their flag then you just gave them a ton of points with a deathwish... Kinda like saying "let's become Kamikazes trying to kill this guy" LOL, very true. That's kind of like carrying an opposing team's flag in a CTF-style...

Yeah, once server plugins can modify the tanks' scores, a plugin could do this quite nicely. The only problem with doing it right now is that very few people play on the version 2.1 servers. Someone could certainly start on it, though, and then it could be tested and incorporated once people started...

Source code patch

Okay, I made a source code modification to make disabling chat more feasable. This change features: 1. Automatic "Chat disabled" message sent in reply to all private messages from any silenced tanks, whether it be one tank, two, or everyone (with silence all). 2. Automatic "Chat disab...

I like the idea of an automatic message to other tanks when they send messages to a "chat-disabled" tank. Maybe someone could come up with a source code patch for this? I would do it, but I'm not a patchfile expert.

Yeah, I'm having hard crashes too. OS X 10.4.6, BZFlag 2.0.9 (same as 2.0.8, I think). iMac 400MHz w/8MB VRAM. Doesn't seem to be predictable, but when it happens, the entire machine locks up and requires a hard reboot. I'm not sure whether or not it happened in 2.0.4/2.0.5.

"Contents/MacOS/bzfs" is right, just do what CannonBallGuy said and make sure you have the right path leading up to that. If you have "BZFlag-2.0.8" in your Applications folder, for instance, your path would be "/Applications/BZFlag-2.0.8.app/Contents/MacOS/bzfs".

Another important note is that, while you CAN move left and right faster when you are completely parallel to your opponent, you lose valuable time turning back to shoot at him.
