Several changes again today, check the changelog in the first post for details. However, I would like to highlight one thing: The kinda standard 'laser deflect' pyramids now have golden edges to match the theme of the map. It's based upon a cool idea by trepan (who made a 10000 poly concept...wicked...

It's for development only.

You'll have to start you BZFLag client with the -d parameter, then go to the options menu and play with all the extra settings :-)

As for the "divisions 4" arcs, yes, there is a reason. Divisions are per angle given, and where I use "divisions 4" you will also see "angle 90" or something like that. Without using the angle command it would be the same as a meshbox (unless you use ratio to make it ho...

Sand Blaster (Experimental)

UPDATE JUNE 8: Released this experimental version as final under the name Sand Blaster V2 Although Sand Blaster has only recently been released, I am making some updates. All these updates will be live on the shellshock.bzflag.bz:4500 server, so you can give feedback at anytime. Until the updates a...

Tx guys. And yes, its all done in text. No BZEdit has been involved (won't work anyway in 2.0) Text design really helps in keeping the code crisp and clean. As for the no lag syndrome, you'll have to thank Trepan for that one. He's given lots of advice and help in this area. The map would have had l...

Sand Blaster

2010. Sixteen years after the Chernobyl disaster, it happened again. This time in the vast Sahara Desert. An entire city now lays abandoned but neighbouring countries are fighting over the technology in radiation-shielded tanks. Enter Sand Blaster. Name : Sand Blaster Size : 54 KB Earliest Recommend...

It does remind me of Rat Lab a little too, although I did not intend to go that way. Sometimes you just don't know what will happen....you start with one building, then the next structure...etc. I was planning to go all 'old architecture' but then got an idea to put in some tech. I liked the feel an...

Since we're on the topic, is there any reason why this solution should not be standard in the configuration file?

Tx for the playability compliment, nice to hear since that's what I focus on first. The graphics are a nice addon, but should not get in the way I think. As for the graphics however :-) : The lighting set to off would definitely explain the yellow silhouette syndrome :-) Funny one. And yes, the dome...

Lol...yeah, sure I got it right (even have had my password reset to be sure). Tx for the tips though. Anyway, I am always having this problem, no exceptions. Restarts and all matter not, my connection of 2gb should be ok too, plus I am getting it with nearly every server. Weird. On a new account I h...

Beta: Sand Blaster

The BETA of Sand Blaster is now running on shellshock.bzflag.bz:4502

Unfortunately there is no fog for the moment since the server uses a slightly older version of BZFS.

See you online.

Today? Who said anything about today? :D But to keep you updated, I will definitely host a beta version tomorrow (which means 'testing'). There are some rough edges still, and I am not quite happy with the North-West corner, but it's playable. Right now I have just finished the desert floor (grass d...

Global login rejected, bad token

See title. I keep getting this message, then usually get kicked of the server. My password and userid are both correct. Can't "/unregister", can't use "/identify passwd" (these always seem to be disabled). I bypassed my firewall completely as well.

Any bright ideas?

Updated: Sand Blaster

Another teaser shot, showing another area of Sand Blaster: - A twin-furnace area with tall chimneys - A glass tube to crawl through (fun to shoot inside this one) - A rounded glass wall (shoot against this from the inside can make bullets go in curves) - Another type of dome complex Development stat...

Can't wait huh :-) Don't know when it will be done, so let me quote ID software: 'Its done when its done'

At the moment I am waiting for some ideas, tried drinking coffee, didn't help (although it tasted good).

Finished about 50%

All Notepad. Even for 1.10.x maps, I only ever used BZEdit for previews, never for editing.
