Hey everyone, I have a new map up in public testing: Now Testing: WideWorld by Sir_Pants 0ftwide.mine.nu:4508 After being left unfinished for a very long time, Sir_Pants finally got around to bugfixing his masterpiece CTF. What can I say? It's the type of map you'll have to go to in order to underst...

It would be really nice to have a way to reset variables from a plugin too. (the /reset * command).

This would allow someone to make a plugin to restore vars at a set time once people are done messing with them.

Player/Server Karma Idea

So I was thinking. There are around 250 BZFlag servers. There's only about 100 players online at any given time. Other than a set group of servers, it is rare that any gain enough exposure to actually accumulate a fanbase. If a player "seeds" a server, he should be rewarded. It can usually...

First of all, don't follow those make instructions. If you are compiling on Ubuntu, you should be using checkinstall as the last step (you'll have to apt-get checkinstall before you use it). Also, if you want to keep both versions, use a make target to install it in a specific directory. Second, if ...

Acceleration Limits

A-Delusion, A Temporal Distraction, and I were messing around with Acceleration Limits. We are aware that several years ago the issue of input acceleration caused quite a stir in the ducati and pillbox communities. Recently, several keyboard players have noticed problems with directional jumps when ...

As already said, the key is very useful when it comes to multi-level jumping servers. A lot of maps expect you to jump up and down from narrow platforms, and sometimes the only way to avoid overshooting them is to use the "a" key. Also if you spawn in a very high place (the older version o...

Great map, I'd say your best work. What I was surprised about was how playable it is. The plugins combine with the map in an almost seemless manner and forces you to play not just CTF, but very good, calculated CTF.

Awesome job.

I beg to disagree. I use the "Slow Keyboard Motion" key quite regularly in very "normal" circumstances. And for the rest of the time, why would anyone want to go slower than full speed? Very rarely. ... snip ... Hopefully not diverging too far off the topic, I'm perplexed by thi...

I can only find jitterwarn and jitterkick on Strayer's testpage, which gets its list of commands from CVS 2.1x if I'm not mistaken. I don't understand. Are you asking us how to use them, if they exist in the 2.0 branch, or are you requesting a backport of the 2.1x feature? Flag reset is right here: ...

If it's your server, you can set it up to record games. You can then play them back as if they are going on right as you watch them (can see from anyone's perspective, etc.)

If its not your server, there's utilities like FRAPs that offer screen capture.

Cheers...

How about this, a server where only admins are allowed on. Then they can ffa or ctf on a map. A kicking war? Wow. That's hilarious. Actually I thought about this. Make a server that's a step above other severs. Normal players aren't allowed to spawn, Admins from the major servers are normal players...

This is such a dumb thread. The game itself will never, ever, cost money. The devs have stated this numerous times. As long as the game itself is free, people will run free servers. Even if some servers start requiring you to pay to play, they will be a minority and most likely unable to sustain a p...

Re: Bug or not?

Also, the seemingly interminable SW stopped as soon as I shot a regular bullet (which I did as an experiment to try to make it stop). Nevertheless, you have do...
