I cant admin my servers, and i thing bzfs will help me do it You can't admin your bzflag-servers? But when you run these servers, then you already ARE using bzfs. (I guess you mean: "I don't have any bzflag-servers") how do you get the app bzfs? Tell us your OS to get goal-oriented help. ...

Re: BZAdmin message filter

How do I change the message filter in BZAdmin? I haven't figured it out for several months. Thanks in advance. The bzadmin documentation is your friend. Maybe you were searching that: -hide msgtype[,msgtype]... Tell bzadmin not to show these message types. The available message types are chat, join...

There are only so many players... that is the issue. The lag is secondary. There are not enough players to support 2 versions of this map...There are plenty of servers (too many in fact, for the number of players) find one that your lag is good on and play there. The easiest way to make a server mo...

Just some ideas about how to break this server into 2 maps: A server-message should be added on the strict-lag-map-version which adverts to the server-adress of the tolerant-lag-version, so laggy people (who read server messages) could join the appropriate Missle War version. Analogically the versio...

Re: Missile Wars 2

I have been playing Missile Wars 2 a lot and am enjoying it for the most part... Also the lag limit is so hard to meet if you come from the southern hemisphere, as I do. I have broadband, but keep getting kicked for lag like 274 ms. You could also suggest to the server-owner to set up a second dupl...

Re: Missile Wars 2

How do we make suggestions for the map servers like these? During in-game you type: /report Your suggestion comes here Reports only support about 128 characters. So you would need to split longer messages into separate reports. Also the lag limit is so hard to meet if you come from the southern hem...

Re: How do you set up flags and jumping and tank speed?

...i cant jump... The bzfs.html (BZFlag program menu => Doc => bzfs) tells: "-j Allows jumping." So the option -j allows jumping. ...and theres no flags... This page lists the abrevations of certain flags: http://my.bzflag.org/w/Flag_List This would add for example 2 Narrow-flags and 3 SB...

How in the world do u test a map???!!! The subset of this link describes more detailed how to run a server: http://my.bzflag.org/w/Creating_a_server Adjacent you need just to spawn on the map of your running server via "Join Game" => "Connect", like blast adumbrated. And please ...

Dexter , generally a conclusion from a specific case to a general context isn't automatically valid. I'm mentioning it, as you are used to the lowest lag-level that our bzflag community has to offer, and there you need skill against a 80ms lagger and you need also skill against a 200ms lagger, whic...

Re: Lag

but what is lag?? is it just another annoying bit of the game that is an unsolved problem? Yep, generally people are - with good cause - annoyed about lag. or is it really just another part of the game that adds a little bit of a challenge to both the lagger and the nonlagger? Does it build skill o...

Technology for networking via Home-electric circuit. Yes, I've heard of these. I'll have a look into it, thanks. Feel free to ask questions. Something important, this technology depends much on the home-electric-circuit-infrastructure. Generally it works more bad in old houses with their old-circui...

Physical the frequency of an 11mbit standard has a better pervasion characteristic (like pervasing walls) than the frequency of the 54mbit standard. So changing the router status to the 11mbit modus (with it's severe disadvatages) could help!

I think perhaps I have a combo of problems. The game is run on a older rig (athlon 1ghz, 128m agp2 vid, 1g ram, usb wlan) It looks to me, your usb wlan could be a potential issue! Nice, it's a good choice to not make usage of the Java 6 Api. (As Apple is too ignorant, afaik Apple STILL doesn't deliver JRE6 for Mac OS 10.4!)

And good luck with your project!

If it's the last named, then check your packet loss on other internet connections. If you don't get packet loss there, then the issue isn't on your computer system, thus one potential source of error less which we can exclude.
