Re: Ummm...Creating maps...eh?
Ok. Ill probably fix this.. As for hosting, am I right about that you need to send both the bzw-file and the conf-file? Yes, these 2 files are essential. Ive been using BZEdit, I think its enogh for my needs.. Yep, this App is nice for the basics of making a map. If you plan one day to add extended...

Link count issue
Hmm, sadly I can't add more than 6 links in a post.
Is it intensionally or accidently?

Forum search issue
I know there are several topics about UDP on this forum. (Planned to search and add a suited post about UDP today, else I wouldn't find out about this issue) However when I type the term "udp" or "UDP" into the search box, I get no results, namely: "No suitable matches were ...

Re: UPD/UDP??
Afaik UDP is active by default in all bzflag versions of the last few years, so the BZFlag message "to update your bzflag client" is simply wrong.
The issue is either on your router or your firewall or your ISP.

Re: BZ on Win7 :)
If you and snick are both using a Desktop system, then think about getting the same grafic card like snick, in the case that you still wanna use 7 beta. (Before that I would try Windows update on your 7 beta, maybe you are lucky and it will offer you an intel driver for your grafic card)

Re: Blurry hud
What would OS have to do with anything regarding how we draw? Cause the GPU-drivers for a certain OS don't always draw like they are supposed to do. Also he has not mentioned that it isn't a display device. So I don't see why it is so clear to you, that he isn't talking about a HUD-Hardware-display.

Re: A Few Ideas.
I invented scenario 1c in order to have not too many and not too few SO flags. As these 2 extremum would make SO kinda pointelss. Like always/often keeping the golden mean is the key. (That's why servers with 1 shots or 20 shots generally arn't popular, due to their extremum) If I have the SO flag I...

Re: A Few Ideas.
z[h]ero please stop talking in circles. You were talking in circles, however you finally started to discuss seriously with me. So now the situation should get clarified in this post. (Naturally scenario 2 is pointless, like we already did discuss) Naturally the server would need to be set-up intere...

Re: A Few Ideas.
Right... the SO flag would add little to the game. Thanks for pointing it out, if I am to take your logic. You intensionally prevaricate my words, I didn't tell anything like that in the context of no-shot-servers. Rather I did praise the intensification of the tactics, due to that flag. If the fla...

Re: A Few Ideas.
If there are that many bullets because of "SO" flags, then maybe the server shouldn't be no-shots. There are equivalent as many/few bullets for SO-flag-owners like the server-operator did set the shot-limit, and you know it. "Big old back Bucko" naturally just temporary invented...

Re: A Few Ideas.
A quick 'i' will show that you have the shots flag. Yep. (However noobs don't know about this key) If there are no shots... there ARE NO BULLETS to "massively" dodge. Big Old Bad Bucko speaks about no-shot servers, however naturally there ARE shots/bullets due to the SO-flag: 1) A "s...

Re: A Few Ideas.
as the two possible scenarios are "maps with no shots" and "maps with shots". Your point about dodging does not make any sense on no-shot servers Seriously, where do you get all the time the "maps with shots" from? I already told you several times that we speak about &...

Re: A Few Ideas.
But I am still confused... what would a "SO" flag be doing on a server with shots? Everyone already has them. It would be as bad as the useless flag. This would be true on a server with shots. However the topic is about the SO-flag on a no-shot server, like written in the first post: &quo...

Re: A Few Ideas.
Uhm... they would be massively dodging what? Naturally there is only one thing which you need to dodge: bullets/shoots. His scenario would be on no-shot servers. On servers with shots, everyone knows you have shots left. Naturally. I wasn't speaking about another scenario. -Good players could prete...

Re: A Few Ideas.
1) A "shoot" (SO) flag, allowing no-shot servers to specify a shot limit when you are holding this flag. At the first moment it looked like a nonsense idea, however IMO this is a genius idea, which would add much more intense tactics to the game-play! Let me describe some of my thoughts. ...

Additionally it wouldn't harm to tell us your OS. whenever i play bzflag thrugh HUD and turn my tank... I assume you implicate, that whenever you play bzflag not through HUD, namely through a monitor then the blur-effect doesn't occur? whenever i play bzflag thrugh HUD and turn my tank (left or righ...

Re: BZFlag on iPhone and iPod Touch
The other big difference between those two plattforms is the programming language.BuBu wrote:What about htc g1,android platform
Android => Java
iPhone => Objective C
On the other hand, as the BZFlag developers are massively C++ oriented, Obective C would attract more developers.

Sadly my IE7 seems to suck on this page. Opened 2 different pages simultanously and my computer didn't response due to RAM-size-issues. (Generally I need to open much more than 20 pages simulatously to get into RAM-issues) I found out the following: The start-page consumes about 200 MB RAM. (Reprodu...

Isn't that kinda what I just said? Well, not really: First: No, it is not a bad idea, as they can't tell where you really are (they do get some clues though). Some people don't get just a clue about CL-position, so CL is COMPLETELY meaningless if an experienced and good player is your opponent, for...

But jumping with CL isn't a bad idea, right? An answer to this question should be differentiated. Indeed, if you play against a beginner, then it's a very good idea. However if a skilled player is near you (let's say someone with a kill ratio of 2) then in general you will be CL-meat for sure, as t...
