All that hype
I know that there have been wild rumors going around about how there is something truly great being created in the Tedius labs, people have been speculating about the kind of map I must have been working on with my time. People have been saying, It'll be more fun than "Quidditch, Tanks on Broom...

Someday I'll get around to adding music to the video for you PETER. Some video effects and variety in the cuts would be even better.
Nice collection.

OS X Server is basically OS X with a boatload of serving tools thrown in. I would guess that there is no better and more secure platform to run bzflag on than on OS X Server. (cue OS flamewar.. here) To answer the question definitively, I just copied the binary to a PPC XServe running OS 10.4 Server...

The monkey thing is a result of enabling full debugging in your configuration. In your config file find the line that says -dddd and change it to one or two d's instead. It is an accurate description of the text garble that is spewed when it is enabled: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinite_monkey_t...

If any admins are cheating on any of my servers I would like to know about it immediately with specific details in a Private message. Thanks anomaly, very cool. I look forward to adding them to the map. In looking back at my original post, I change my mind about it being only a single mesh. I don't think there will be framerate issues if I add one or two objects with multiple meshes included. I just didn't want something made from...

The Tedius guide to geno
I think I geno'ed the same person twice this afternoon, what was his name... crazy tangerine? silly orange? something like that... If you have geno: wait at the bottom of a box for tanks to jump down, someone will inevitably try to be the hero. If you don't have geno: don't fall off boxes hoping to ...

It seems like it would work, and it sounds like a good idea to me. I think a simpler solution than deducting points for a bank deposit would be to deposit all the points accumulated when a tank leaves. That way you would not have to subtract points from the score, and I don't see why you couldn't do...

This is a neat idea Vet. Here is what I would add: Pillbox-like maps 1. Tank Awareness: Ability to make decisions based on the positions of teammates and enemies. This can be a little like predicting the future. For instance, at times it may be better to hide and wait, run for cover, attack, cover a...

Here is my mapping, sorry I can't help you with your mouse issues, as you can see below. Once you get used to a good setup, hitting the wrong keys becomes less of a problem. I think a better default key-mapping would be a important addition to 2.2 fire: z,x dropflag: c binoculars: a jump: space iden...

To me, playability is the single most important aspect to making a map. If you can nail that down, you will have a popular map, IMHO. Playability means: a balance of superflags a balance of skill and luck a rewarding experience for both noobs and advanced players well thought out shot paths, elevati...

Your texcoord should match up with the vertices. In my example, the vertices were listed in order from the lower left hand around to the upper left hand corner. If it is sideways, just switch your texcoords around like this: face vertices 0 1 2 3 texcoords 1 2 3 0 matref wtf endface or possibly this...

Fun with texcoords:
by Tedius I am guessing by the way you phrased your question that you may have a few steps to go before you are able to use texcoords successfully. But just in case, you or someone else is bound to find this useful. I am hoping you can make a simple mesh face. The code m...
