Was it Lavender Town, the Pokemon-themed version of HIX?

Re: Is this a cheap tactic?
Figured he was just being a sore loser. I was trying to tell the guy that I was defending the base, but he wouldn't have it.

Re: Issues.
I can kind of see where Gollum was coming from, but I wouldn't blame it on the server(s), just a certain small percentage of particularly vocal idiots, and with the decline of the overall number of BZFlag players, that percentage has gone up. There are definitely some complete douchebags in BZ, I'm ...

Custom auto-hunting options
I think it would be awesome if, assuming BZFlag ever gets another release (fat chance, I know), it would be great to have customizable automatic hunting options if they aren't already in the game somehow. It's a pain to constantly have to adjust my hunt list in the heat of battle just because someon...

Re: Theme Suggestion
Honestly, even if there were, I'd rather the game not have a themesong or any music playing, or if this ever happens, there should be a way to turn the music off. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-music or anything (on the contrary, music is one of my greatest loves, and I'm hoping to make a career o...

Is this a cheap tactic?
I was playing on Bloodbath today for an hour or so and on a few occasions made use of a strategy I like on that map, one that no one ever seemed to complain about until today. The main guy who was complaining about it clearly was just trying to be a douche, but I figured, hey, why not see what the r...

Re: Digital signing for OS X Mountain Lion
But if you look at the warning, as Captain said, it would make it sound like BZFlag would harm the person's computer, which could scare away potential new players--which is the last thing BZFlag needs right now. My guess would be it's only some time until someone can get past the digital signatures ...

Re: Rejected Flags
You don't always have the counterflags, true enough, but when you see that someone on the other team is a significant threat, that's when you look for the counterflags to take them down. Also, whether the SH-geno effect is specifically designed as a counter or not, it still works and might as well b...

Re: Rejected Flags
In the context of flags, there actually is an offset to Geno--SH. If a teammate gets hit with geno while you have shield, instead of dying you'll just drop the flag. But that's entirely dependent on whether you were lucky enough to stumble across the flag.

Re: Rejected Flags
There are ways to dodge laser and GMs, you can get behind a building, for example. Plus there are special skills you can lean to dodge GMs, like moving at a right-angle to the shot and making a specific circling motion that can throw off the lock. The only time you can't dodge them is when someone i...

Re: "Trainer" map suggestion box
Yeah, the guide text thing sounds good. I was thinking the same thing. And honestly, I still think there should be a way to float this to the top of the serverlist if it ever happens. Even if there are rules against that sort of thing, this should be an exception because it might give the game new l...

Re: "Trainer" map suggestion box
Got it. Still, I wouldn't see the point in going through nearly every single flag in the game during one training session. It would probably make the new players impatient. What might make more sense is if you grouped certain similar flags together (shot altering flags, size/hitbox altering flags, f...

Re: Ninja Castle (Map project Sig and I are planning)
Okay, sig just PMed me letting me know that he's pretty much given up entirely on BZFlag at this point, and won't be able to help make this a map at some point. Is there any person here who might be interested in doing something with this idea, or should I pretty much leave it for dead, like, let's ...

Re: DON'T LET BZFLAG DIE!! PLEASE READ THIS
well, the reason I almost quit BZFlag when I first started was the counter intuitive controls. I couldn't even figure out how to get out of the base in Boxywar since I didn't know how to jump. The default config needs to be geared more for 1st time users with shift being jump, t chat, y team chat, ...

Re: "Trainer" map suggestion box
I like the ghost tank idea. Maybe you could use some kind of moving, pass-through object in the shape of a tank and have that demonstrate what the player should do? Or maybe you could make the blllboards animated and use that to show them step-by-step? Also, maybe there's a way to make a plug-in so ...

Re: Rejected Flags
I was actually looking though the list recently too, and while agreed with a lot of the reasons chosen to reject many of the flags, some of them didn't make much sense because they contradicted some of the flags already in the game. For example, shots kill, right? Then what's Thief? Flags can't be h...

That doesn't sound bad either, just possibly a bit too complex for BZ. But we'll see what the devs say about that, I guess.

Re: Flag Pocketing
^I already had thought of both of those. I actually already mentioned the delay time in my OP, but maybe I should've been clearer. And yeah, the scoreboard should definitely show all the flags in everyone's arsenal. I was thinking it could be something as simple as something like " GM /SE"...

Re: Flag Pocketing
But otherwise it's pretty much good? That's fine by me, BZ functions fine without it, I just think it would be cool to have eventually.
