Block Party and More Blocks Maps
Here are the 'blocks' maps. I modeled them in blender, exported as .obj and used a mod'd modeltool to create the .bzw
Enjoy
EDIT: ok Screenies...
EDIT: ok jpegs... I also compressed both .bzw files into a single .zip

I have noticed that most of the images do not have an extension. They all look like .png's though. Maybe there is a problem properly identifying the image format. Almost all of the images in the artmap directory are extension free. Some of the images don't load for me either. But they do download. L...

That happened to me after I svn updated a while ago. 2.0.9, I think. I ended up deleting my entire bzflag directory and got the latest v2_0branch again. Recompiled and it worked fine. :? Long freezes after firing a shot. SW was even worse. Has not happened since. Platform is Fedora 7 on P4, intel 86...

As for question #1, bzflag will get a copy of a defined but not instantiated group. It will be downloaded by the client. You can test this by creating a map with some defined but not instantiated object. Then save the map in the client and take a look at what you got. And #2, the client will get the...

There are some good changes in 2.0.10RC3. JeffM wrote in his initial post about 2.0.10RCx: We also took the opportunity to fix some bugs that were found after 2.0.8 was released. That doesn’t mean a couple small features didn't sneak their way into the code as well :) Including: Windows platform fix...

There seems to be an issue with title.png in RC3. This file will not display correctly on my machine. The old title.png will as well as the new 2.1.x title.png when I copy them to /usr/share/bzflag. Possibly compression? The new file is about half the size of the old or the 2.1.x file. EDIT: Found s...

Actually the script already handles tristrips and continuations correctly. Unfortunately stripe does not output any material info in the .objf file. The script needs to be modified to either read the .mtl or the original .obj file to get the material info. I manually added the matref to the .bzw fil...

Yes, an interpreted language would be slow. Maybe too slow for the striping. However converting to tris and/or polys would still be an improvement. You could work out the stripifying later. I would like to see BZWTools have a drawInfo output option. And for those who are interested, here is another ...

I would like to see more efficient rendering. Using strips is obviously more efficient. But drawInfo does not require their use. Trepan implemented most, if not all the OGL commands for display lists. Remember that drawInfo uses display lists for rendering which are usually faster than constructs li...

Actually the dlist should be inside the lod if you want that group of polys to be in a display list by itself, otherwise the entire drawinfo will be in the same display list. Using dummy verts is not a good idea. One thing is that the list of verts, normals, texcoords is one element too long in the ...

Tedius: corner v/n/t is correct, the order in the obj file is 'f v/t/n ...'. I didn't say that quite right earlier. Also the dummy verts may have worked this time because the first index needed to be zero. However it is better to decrement the unit offset corner v/n/t values to zero offset values, '...

Try using the default port (5154) , because ports 0-1023 are Well Known Ports that are assigned by the IANA. These ports can only be used by system or root processes, or by applications executed by privileged users. Even though your server is in the list I cannot connect to or ping it. Traceroute do...

maybe one more, line 442 in modeltool.cxx, shouldn't that be
it's on my copy.
That was confusing the hell outa me, kept saying "no valid meshes...", but the .bzw was there.
Code: Select all
if (!meshes.valid())
Code: Select all
if ( meshes.valid())
