erm

Never suggested that the feature would be removed, at least that wasn't what was meant. The current default binding, though, will likely change (and hence the current *binding* for 'a' would be removed), but not the feature itself. Players can always bind whatever they want to whichever keys they wa...

Do you use the "toggle slow keyboard" key?

It's recently come to my attention that some players may actually use the "toggle slow keyboard" key. That is, the 'a' key. When you press that during game play, it will slow everything down. This has the mild advantage of allowing you finer-grained control when aiming/shooting and jumping...

you too?

interesting, baron.. now i'm really curious how many folks actually use that key. I'm a faithful keyboarder and would never use slow mode to get better aim. it'd.. take too long. then again, my aim isn't too horrible either.. (nor is yours, which futher confuses me that you'd use the key) It takes a...

I beg to disagree. I use the "Slow Keyboard Motion" key quite regularly in very "normal" circumstances. And for the rest of the time, why would anyone want to go slower than full speed? Very rarely. ... snip ... Hopefully not diverging too far off the topic, I'm perplexed by thi...

if you turn on transparency, then the colors behind the radar will bleed through. otherwise, there's not really an easy way to change the default radar background color without editing the source code and recompiling.

Netgear is somewhat notorious for having various router revisions that are .. less than favorable, with unfixed bugs. So your assertion could very well be true. There are a few other things you can try, though. Try changing your routers routing settings. That is, if you've got a firewall turned on, ...

Ah, heh. If you have folks "taking" your connection, then you probably have bigger concerns. I'd suggest pulling up the docs on your linksys router, doing a *full* reset, setting the admin password to something different, and set up whatever other settings you need from there. It's very po...

locker

Welcome! For "most" servers, you don't have to register in order to use /say, but apparently for the server you were on you did. Either way, it's a good thing to eventually do regardless if you enjoy the game.

Hope you don't visit your locker too often. ;-)

Happy sailing.

wow

Wow, I can't imagine that the current poll results (which show's roughly 5:3) are representative yet. For years, the keyboarders vs mouse players have been outnumbered at least 10:1 in favor of mouse (at least for dedicated "good" players). I could count the number of good ducati-style key...

shared connections

If you're on cable internet or adsl, you usually share your connection with those in your neighborhood/locale. So a combination of everyone returning home from visiting families, kids still being home on winter break from college/high school/etc, and other "free time" people tend to have a...

it's your router

About 90% of the time, this is a bug in your local router or cable modem. Especially common in the "economicly priced" though it can be found even in some of the high end models too, several router variants have problems in their UDP TCP/IP stack management. You still get to see the gamepl...

check your pings

yo mama, you should be able to delete your config and cache files and "start fresh". There's an option on the menu to also ignore and/or reset cache file lifetimes too that you can try. Either way, if you can't play any more, you should report a problem to the sf.net/projects/bzflag suppor...

tipping point

I'm sure out of 220 servers currently running that there are at least a couple rabbit hunt maps running. The trouble with finding one is a tipping point problem -- the map isn't really fun with just a couple people. You need a lot of people. So they're rarely popular unless a lot of people are playi...

The skins you are using might be too much, i.e. maybe too big, for your video card to handle. You can either try resizing them so that they're smaller or just punt and stick to a different "skin" set. Another option might be to just play with some of the options on the Graphics options men...

There are still several major issues being worked on for the next major release, so I wouldn't recommend holding your breath. It'll be released when it's released. Usually the major releases are preceeded by several testing phases, and those haven't even begun yet.

Cheers!

Is there a particular reason, visitors are forced to scroll to see the skip this? Especially since the flash is being made to expand to the size of the window, it shouldn't be too difficult to leave a little bit for the footer.. While perhaps cool the first couple times, that intro will get very old...

nice work

Links, For future reference, patches and other modifications should be provided to the Sourceforge project site's patches tracker: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=3248&atid=303248 Also, generally changes are preferred in the unified diff format (diff -u -b -B), not the entire files. The...

very interesting

Links, Nice work on the interface -- it looks really useful, and is actually closely in line with a similar interface that the developers have talked about adding for some time now. If you'd be willing to work on rewriting it in something more cross-platform, it would make a great addition to the of...
