you can always just lower the sound within bz. I listen to mp3's while playing bz, however I do need to be able to hear in-game sounds so I have the the music playing at regular volume and turn bz's sound down slightly.

so which will collapse first, the economy or BzFlag?

In some ways, this is good entertainment. And it should be happening here, not while in the Battlefield.

Though some may object to this discussion happening here, as I said before, less chat - play more, at least on the field.

not a coding person myself so I can't help there, but am curious if you are referring to the email string shown behind your callsign in the game?

contact the owner/admin of what ever server this happened on and work this out with them.

And it's good that you didn't mention a name...they prefer you don't, not here.

not here, you can pm the person with whom ever you have this issue with or contact the server owner.

what version are you at? 2.4 is the latest and earlier versions won't see those servers that have upgraded.

Been at it for over 10+ yrs now (BZ anon doesn't work) - you are right in a sense though that there aren't many who play now.

who manages or admins the bztank.net servers?

I've been included in a ban and have already sent a msg to the person who was listed as invoking the ban, however they have not responded.

edit, obviously a wide open question, but seeing the dire situation, I'm throwing out even the easiest question in hoping that someone may jump up to the plate here.

going by your sig, I'll assume linux. you can do that in a terminal, or add it to a file and call that file up to launch bz with.

example of what I've used for years which keeps files with the date timestamp as the name of the file (client side, linux os);

bzflag -echo > /home/steve/bzflag/logs/`date +%h-%d_%Y_%H-%M`.log

let me add to the fray, I wouldn't recommend this version of opensuse due to their way of attempting to load a 3d nvidia driver...

I used to say it runs better in linux. However, with a dual boot opensuse 11.3/Win7 now - I'd have to say they both run bz just fine now.

opensuse is still primary though...

radeon is an ATI (soon to be called just AMD) graphic chip.

Mark_IV, you may want to consider uninstalling your current nvidia driver, then upgrading.

Uhm, how about more like over 200? Most maps on the list server people never even get played on.

perhaps there are over 50 *maps*(is that all?), and there are over 200 *servers* out there.

rename the .obj to something which can be uploaded and make a comment suggesting to rename it to .obj...

Then again, one too many beers makes this a simple suggestion by me...
