Re: Newest ATi Drivers on Windows faulty for BZ

Here are some screen-shots of the odd issue.

Once I installed catalyst 10.6, which started the problem on the two PCs, even the old versions cause the problem.

Newest ATi Drivers on Windows faulty for BZ

Well, I recently updated my Phenom II box with the ATI 4200, and my P4 with an ATi 4600 to the newest ATi driver that adds hardware accelerated flash, etc. It breaks compatibility with BZ. How? Any map with custom textures fails. The textures turn into 1 color, or get stretched out. They are never t...

Re: what server can you kick butt at?

I really don't do well based on the map. It takes me a while to get used to all the areas in the map, which areas are the most deadly and have opportunities for destroying enemy tanks.

Re: Poor OpenGL Performance ATi Radeon 4600

Well, I updated to the newest driver, and it is much better. It now jumps from 50-150 at random.
At least its better than before :P

Poor OpenGL Performance ATi Radeon 4600

Well, I have a ATi Radeon 4600, which should not struggle at all at running BZFlag, but it does somehow. It runs all DirectX Applications fine. It only struggles with OpenGL. It is on a 3.6GHZ P4 HT, i900 Chipset with DDR2, Windows XP SP3, and some recent ATI Driver package. After a while, the lag i...

Re: BZFlag has become less fun

I dont find camping as annoying as team killing. Now that is the current issue. Just yesterday I was team killed 5 times within a short amount of time. Perhaps I should had been more careful, but other times it was the other person.

I think textures add to the character of a map-makes it different.

Re: BZFlag website

I am not the one who said that-Some random troll did. Said his xbox is better or something..

But that does not matter. Experimental looks good.

Oddly the issue goes away after about 20 minutes of gameplay.

Performance Issues with ATi x4670

Alright, let me give you all the specs of the machine. Pentium 4 HT Prescott, 3.60GHZ 2gb DDR2 Windows XP Pro SP3 160gb 7200rpm Seagate SATA And the ATi Radeon x4670 HIS IceQ Turbo Edition With the latest ATI Drivers too. All DirectX Games run with fluid motion, with high FPS. In BZFlag it shudders ...

Re: BZFlag website

Advertising can be accomplished rather easily by viral video, messaging, etc. Just need to get the momentum started. As for the site, I think its fine, just needs more gameplay information rather then technical. Your average person will look at BZFlag and say "Those graphics suck" and walk...

Now it works.... Seems intermittent. Perhaps it was BZFlags allergic reaction to the better drivers?

It may be a one time thing.

BZFlag on 10.5.5 Santa Rosa Platform Macbooks

Well, it has horrid issues, like gosting. Apples 10.5.5 update fixed the Intel x3100 drivers, and in all other programs the graphics are faster, smoother and just all around better. Except for BZFlag.

Any short term solutions?

In my opinion, camping is ok for a while, but it gets old fast. Keep it to a limit and you can avoid angry people.

Hm. Try lowering your monitor resolution or checking for viruses. Also, are you on a funky monitor resolution? Put it at 1024x768 and see if it works.
