Yup, look at the -echo and -echoAnsi options. They should log all output you see in the chat window into the console, where you can redirect it to a file. Well, I tried that, but near as I can tell the windows client doesn't use a console. (no STDOUT) I also tried the -d -d -d -d On the other hand,...

Admin Client Hacks?

Occassionally, I hear suggestions from admins about things they would find useful in a client. Little extras to make admin'ing easier. Most recently I even thought of one. The option to log certain things to a text file. for starters output of /playerlist and /banlist and all chat. Before I start di...

ducatiwannabe , each time your map starts on the rotation server, the server automatically downloads http://rangfar.com/hosted/bzflagworld/RiverofDestruction.bzw If you change the file there, it will be updated the next time the server loads (do a /shutdownserver to force it down) BIYA , 1) yes; 2)...

Wow, I've gotten behind. Hey, quick question, is there a way to make it so my maps dont have a 20 shot limit on wings, cause there isnt really a point to wings with 25 jumps on a big map with only 20 shots Yeah, I accidentally left that in the config. All of your config options should be in the opti...

Of course. Updates are welcome until the deadline. If you update it at the url originally submitted, it will be updated automatically on the exhibition server.

Well, the purpose would be to discourage a certain KIND of camping, but the message could be different. Something like:
  • [SERVER->] The object you're on just ate your flag!
or
  • [SERVER->] The object you're on forced you to drop your flag!
Or whatever.

exactly. Say it won't affect you if you have GM. Maybe its a GM w/shot limit. If you're sitting on it, use up all your shots and drop your flag, you'll blow up!

We've got some pretty cool mapping "features" in the 2.0 train. Earlier I was playing on Overlord and every so often there'd be the guy with SteamRoller (SR) that'd just sit on the enemies base and wait for his team to cap, over and over. SR can be a fun flag, especially on overlord, but t...

OK, to keep this from getting out of hands, I'm updating the rules to limit each submitter to 3 submissions (that means no more than 3 maps!)

I can connect fine. Since each map is downloaded before the server is started, it may take a second or two before it starts up.

Twin Peaks is now on the display server. Take a look.

Also, for the sake of ease of use, I've added the /shutdownServer command to all registered users so you can rotate them manually if you like. Please don't abuse it.

Glad to have your opinion toaster. The reason this is turned off is because when we upgraded to 2.0, bzfs complained about the polling command line options, so they were simply commented out of the config. I need to go read the man page to figure out what the new command line options are to turn the...

How about an option you could put in the config for "CTF Autohunt" which would automatically put ANYONE carrying a team flag on hunt, and remove them when they drop the flag?

By vote of any registered forum users. Originally, the contest was to be judged via a vote at http://hepcat.bzflag.org/forums/ , however there has been a great deal of activity at http://my.bzflag.org/bb/ on the topic of the contest. Would it be more appropriate to hold the vote at http://my.bzflag....
