Any chance of horizontal teleporters?
Basically, is there any chance of a teleporter that can be accessed horizontally (e.g. by jumping into it?) On a similar note, can you rotate objects via their X or Y axis? Or do you have to resort to a mesh? (On a side note, I do see the challenges of linking horizontal and vertical teleporters (ta...

If you're using cmd.exe (which means anything over Windows Me), you will want to start your server something like: bzfs -conf mymap.conf >> log.txt Unfortunately, BZFS doesn't really say much (unless you screw up). To make it talk, you need to add the -d option. The -d option will output information...

Tiny Map
I decided to make this map for the MDGFMC. (Surprise! It's a platforms map!)
Basically, there are nine platforms. If you stay on one too long, you die.
I have posted some screenshots. Unfortunately, I cannot host the map right now.
Tell me what you think

I actually got around to trying it, and had a few disappointments... 1) The invisible walls add confusion, and it takes a while to actually know how the map works. I think you're supposed to curve like a real bowling ball? 2) The wall on the sides of the map are partially exposed, which can let you ...

Yeah, the Flag Ideas map hasn't been weeded through in a LONG time, showing by the number of flags submitted that repeat the errors in yellow... Shotgun sounds neat, although I'm not sure how it would relate, being somewhat between a MG and a manual shot spread. GG's ability all depends on how you i...

Pac-Man
Aw, crap, I'm right behind Spazzy.... Anyway, here is Pac-Man, in BZW form. It's kind of dis-proportionate, but I happen to think it's better than the Atari port, so that's what matters. Tanks spawn in the Ghost Box, and flags are placed where the super-pellets used to be (SW, and SR for an authenti...

BZLookup, because I can...
Just for fun, I decided to hack up a Perl script that can look up any person's data on my.bzflag.org. I have attached the script below. Usage is ./bzlookup.pl [callsign] [-v|-rv] The callsign is the person you want to look up. -v (verbatim) is the munged HTML data that was used in the last step befo...

Is there any way I could get just BZFS without downloading/compiling the whole overhead of BZFlag?
Any help would be appreciated.

Platforms, a tactical map...
Because of my incompetence in creating polygon meshes and lifelike image textures, and considering the many maps within pages 3-27 that are overcomplicated masses of box and pyramid (mostly by map newbs that have to use everything BZEdit has to offer), I decided to move to the opposite of the spectr...

In a nutshell, there are two types of internet protocols, TCP and UDP. In TCP, a connection must be established between two computers, much like a telephone call. UDP, however, does not establish a connection, it just sends a message, much like a mail letter. Because UDP is connectionless, it makes ...

GM's lock on only works for one shot I mean that if you lock on to one person, and shoot two GMs, only the first one will track the player. You need to lock on again. -Combination Play against vets. Mostly default settings, except for. J - Jump Whatever was at J before (flag hiding?) - Tab This works really well for me, since I can have my index finger on Enter to fire, my pinky on J to jump, and my ring finger on I to respawn (but I'm getting better). I can cross my thumb over to space to drop...
