It would be nice not to get killed immediately upon spawning. Perhaps for a short time period after spawning, the tank should be able to move, but not shoot or pick up a flag and that during this period you cannot be shot. This would give you enough time to manouver and avoid incoming shots. I'd say...

An option I'd love to see, is a bullet that only activates after a ricochet . This could be a server option of perhaps a bad flag (RA - RicoActivated - Your bullets only kill after a ricochet) Secondly, a spin option, which would put spin on a bullet after a ricochet .
